People of all body shapes have cellulite. It's natural, but it looks puckered or dimpled because of the way that fat pushes against your connective tissue. You can't completely get rid of it, but there are ways to improve its appearance.
Exercise regularly
"Skin looks smoother and firmer over muscle rather than fat, so exercises that help replace fat with muscle can make cellulite less noticeable," says Little. Cellulite usually forms around the hips, thighs, and buttocks because people tend to have more fatty deposits in those areas, says Chapas.
Photoshop and body make-up
Most celebrities retouch / photoshop their cellulite. The fact is that even paparazzi pictures are retouched (contrary to popular belief, the paparazzo-celebrity relationship it's a two-way relationship). Many also use body makeup to cover cellulite in official shots.
Strength training, especially exercises that target the thighs and glutes, may also help diminish the appearance of cellulite. Some experts recommend a daily cardio routine and two or three strength training sessions every week.
In addition, hormonal factors play a large role in the development of cellulite, and genetics determine skin structure, skin texture and body type. Other factors, such as weight and muscle tone affect whether you have cellulite, though even very fit people can have it.
When these fat cells are depleted, there is less pressure. However, losing weight can sometimes make the appearance of cellulite worse. Lose skin, which often accompanies weight loss, can make cellulite more noticeable.
Because cellulite occurs in the very same areas – hips, thighs, buttocks – that are less metabolically active, it becomes all that much more difficult to lose.
Squats are a great method for reducing cellulite on the legs and butt. Put simply: the more muscle you build, the more likely you are to burn fat. And greater muscle mass results in burning a higher amount of calories throughout the day — even when at rest!
You can see small results in even two to four weeks, after you begin a leg workout. You will have better stamina, and your legs will look a little more defined. But all in all, depending on your fitness levels, it does take three to four months for any remarkable difference.
