"Dinner At Eight" (Season 1, Episode 3)
This is where it all begins for Daphne and Niles, introduced to one another by Frasier.
An English immigrant from Manchester, Daphne is employed by Frasier as a live-in housekeeper and physical therapist for his father, Martin. Her relationship with Frasier's brother Niles is a major plotline of the series, progressing from Niles' secret infatuation to their eventual marriage later in the show.
The baby that Niles and Daphne have at the end of the show is not a result of a real life pregnancy of Jane Leeves, the actress who plays Daphne. However, she was pregnant earlier in the show. In season 8 the actress got pregnant and it was simply written into the show as a weight gain.

"Back Talk" has the unenviable task of bringing to a close a six-and-a-half year running gag that became the series' most prominent storyline. To reveal Niles' feelings for Daphne while still allowing the situation to simmer unresolved for several episodes.
Four years later, Daphne gives birth to their fourth child and first son, David. Simon knows he will love his son no matter what, just as he does his three daughters.
