Lucifer is even stronger than the Endless, and the only known beings able to rival or surpass his power are Michael and the Presence. Dimensional Travel: Lucifer is capable of traveling throughout realms at will. By projecting flames from his hands, Lucifer is able to create portals to hell.
The Endless are a dysfunctional family of seven siblings. They appear in different forms but are most often depicted as having very white skin and black hair, with the exception of redheads Delirium and Destruction. Their appearance often changes to fit the expectations of those they meet or the situation they are in.
The Endless are a somewhat dysfunctional family of seven siblings who each represent an aspect of the universe: Dream, Death, Destiny, Despair, Desire, Delirium and Destruction.
The concept of the Endless was created and developed by writer Neil Gaiman.
Destiny – The eldest of the Endless, he is chained to a large tome known as the Cosmic Log, which contains the sum of all existence in its pages. He is much like his book, possessed of unshakable certainty and equanimity but lacking any ability to change or be spontaneous.
Death is the second eldest of the Endless, a family of beings that personify natural forces.
More than a mere personification of abstract concepts, each Endless is the idea itself, making them immune to death or destruction. While even god can be slain, a fallen Endless is merely replaced by another version of itself because the universe cannot function without these concepts.
Father Time is the personification of Time and rules over his domain. Time is the father to the Endless and with his partner Night, made all of Creation possible. However, in present times, Time and Night are separated and estranged from their families.
The Endless: Destruction Is the Missing Prodigal
The Endless, in order of appearance in the universe, are Destiny, Death, Dream, Destruction, twins Desire and Despair, and Delirium, who was once known as Delight.
That means Destiny is the most powerful and Delirium the weakest. I however think this order of age and power makes more sense: Destiny, Dream, Destruction, Death, Delirium, Desire, then lastly Despair.
Dream, who goes by the name Morpheus, is the second most powerful of all of the Endless, in part because his realm contains aspects of his siblings while being its own unique division.
This differs from the other siblings, who are casually name-dropped and therefore regarded as being alive and well. The Prodigal is the only Endless whose absence implies something more unsettling is rumbling beneath the surface.
He is one of the most powerful beings in the universe and, like his other siblings in the Endless, is immortal. If Dream is killed in any way, his essence will simply fuse with another being and continue on.
In The Sandman, God is referred as “The Presence,” and his existence can be sensed by anyone and everyone. Also, whether God is or is not present himself, his power and domain surround others. The scene of Moses and the burning bush is similar to the portrayal of Hell present in Sandman: Preludes and Nocturnes.
Death is one of the most powerful members of the Endless and one of the most powerful beings in existence in the DC Universe. Her ultimate duty as the embodiment of death lasts until the last living thing dies and she puts the universe itself to rest.
By the time he returns the Kindly Ones are in the heart of the Dreaming. Morpheus summons his sister Death, who kills him.
As children of Time and Darkness, the Endless are incredibly powerful beings, capable to create entire realms and dimensions while existing as the embodiment of their realms. They are said to be more powerful than every single god, even surpassing some of the weaker Primordials.
The Endless are a family of some of the most powerful beings in the DC Universe, who are godlike but not exactly gods themselves because they are not created by mortal belief.
Death is the second oldest of the Endless and the elder sister of Dream.
Dream. Of course, the most powerful character in The Sandman so far is the titular character. Dream, Morpheus, or the Lord of Dreams may start out as a weak and vulnerable member of the Endless stuck in a mortal cage, but he soon regains his abilities as he seeks out his tools one by one.
The Endless are also forbidden from spilling their family's blood. If they break these rules, they risk their own destruction. So, by impregnating Unity, Desire made sure that the following dream vortex to appear would have Endless blood.
Mother Night is a cosmic being introduced in The Sandman: Overture, the embodiment of the absolute emptiness that predates creation. She is revealed to be the mother of The Endless with her consort, Time.
The second oldest of the Endless, Death is easily the busiest member of her family. Apart from Dream, she appears the most frequently of all the Endless in The Sandman stories and had several cameos in comics not written by Neil Gaiman.
History. First incarnated as Delight, she eventually transformed into Delirium for reasons even Destiny does not understand. She is seen as a very young Delight in Endless Nights; and in Overture she is seen at the beginning of her change from Delight to Delirium.
