*67 - Caller ID Block: Hides your phone number on Caller ID systems. *69 - Call Return: Redials the last number that called you. *70 - Call Waiting: Places your call on hold so you can answer another. *72 - Call Forwarding: Forward your call to another phone number.
You have the option to block Caller ID either temporarily or permanently. To block your number from being displayed temporarily for a specific call: Enter *67. Enter the number you wish to call (including area code).

Dialing this before a number basically hides their number from the person they're calling, and prevents anyone from calling them back. *69 allows you to find out who called your phone last… unless it was blocked with *67. You cannot *69 a blocked number.
If *69 does not work:
Your phone must be set to touch tone for Last Call Return to work. Not hearing any beeps when dialing out is a sign that it might be set to pulse. Switching between touch tone and pulse depends on the model of your phone. Check your User Manual to be sure.

Dialing *68 will disable the Caller ID for the next outbound / external call only. Selecting a line and dialing this feature code will result in a prompt on the phone display as well as an audible message: "Caller ID is BLOCKED for the next outbound call only."
Star 69 refers to "last-call return," the Calling Feature Vertical service code *69 keyed on a landline telephone set in order to return the call of the last one to ring (in Canada and the United States).
But keep in mind that this only works for phone calls, not text messages. Another important thing to note is that these blocking codes do not prevent your number's information from being transmitted to the destination number.
Caller ID and *57 call tracing services -- the primary consumer interfaces with electronic identifiers -- make it tough to hide from the heat these days. Dialing *67 may cloak your call from other Caller ID-equipped phones, but not from your carrier or the authorities.

Call a Private Number for Free With *69
The service is free for many, but not all, providers, and to activate it, dial *69 (in the U.S.) on a landline or cellphone before another call comes in. After you dial, if a person answers, ask who is speaking. The drawbacks of this approach depend on the phone service provider.
If a caller has blocked their number from being displayed on your caller ID, dialing *69 can unmask the private number, allowing you to call it back.
*69 doesn't work on blocked calls...a blocked call is just that, blocked. Go a head and dial *67,your home number from your cell. Then see how it is blocked at home. Then try to *69 from home and see if you can get your number.
To block caller ID for an individual call, dial 1831 (or #31# from a mobile) then the number you are calling. Generally, this will make sure the person you are calling will not see your number.
Within “Additional Settings,” look for the “Caller ID” option. Click on “Caller ID” and select the “Hide Number” option.
Depending on your phone provider, you can use a call tracing/tracking service to find out the real identity behind a blocked or private number. After receiving a private call, you can dial *57 from a landline or #57 from your cell phone and follow the phone company's voice instructions.
You can also use *82 to unblock your number in case your call gets rejected temporarily. Some providers and users will automatically block private numbers, so using this code will help you bypass this filter. Blocking your number can go a long way in stopping annoying robocalls.
When you call a number that has blocked yours, you may hear one or half a ring or no rings at all and then the call will go to voicemail. If it goes straight to voicemail, their phone may also be off or out of range, or they may have temporarily turned on Do Not Disturb mode to work, drive, or sleep.
To unblock a number: Press *, dial the 10-digit number you wish to remove, and press * to confirm. Enter *67 and then the number you want to block from seeing your caller ID info.
