At the end of Far Cry 4's expansion, just as the credits begin to roll, Ajay wakes up as a Yeti. Then it just ends and you get chucked back into the game as regular ol' human Ajay.
After the death of Ishwari, Ajay Ghale returns to Kyrat to fulfill her last wish, to scatter her ashes in Lakshmana. He picks passes and goes to Patna, India, and from there, he catches a bus of tourists to go to Kyrat.
It is not fully clear what happened to Ajay after the cutscene, though it is widely believed that the relic caused hallucinations for Ajay, which tricked him into believing he had turned into a Yeti. It is claimed that Ajay was rescued from the Himalayas by helicopter, and brought to The Ghale Homestead.
Ajay first encounters a yeti after escaping Durgesh Prison, but passes out before the creature could get any closer. Ajay is then sent north of Kyrat and into the mountains to find something called "The Relic", which turns out to be a glowing yellow tree that emits a yellow gas and yellow, or orange spores.

Afterward, Ajay wakes up in his bed at the Ghale Homestead. The current leader of the Golden Path is there with him and tells him he passed out in the mountains and was near death when found. Ajay recovers and completes his mission of freeing Southern Kyrat.

After the end of the game, if Amita was placed in charge to lead the Golden Path, there will be a secret cutscene featuring her in Tirtha. There, Amita reveals her true intentions of turning Kyrat into a totalitarian drug state and a drug empire the Golden Path can profit off of.
