In Deathly Hallows, when Harry approached the Pensieve, he was grief-stricken and broken by battle. He practically fell into Snape's memories, and discovered a little thin-faced boy who once knew a girl called Lily Harry's mother and Snape were childhood friends.
Yes. During the final duel between Harry and Voldemort, Harry finally told him that Snape had been, in fact, Dumbledore's man.
Harry attempts a Levicorpus curse, but Snape deflects him. On the ground again, Snape moves toward Harry, crouching over his fallen body. Snape tells Harry that he, Snape, is the Half-Blood Prince, and that Harry should not use his own spells on him, as Harry's father did.
In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry falls into the Pensieve in Dumbledore's office and experiences Dumbledore's memory of Karkaroff's confessions. During this memory, Karkaroff mentions Snape as a Death Eater, at which point Dumbledore comes to his defence.
At one point, Snape is named as a Death Eater by Igor Karkaroff, but Dumbledore comes to Snape's defence, claiming that although Snape had indeed been a Death Eater, he changed sides before Voldemort's downfall and turned spy against him.
He doesn't trust Snape as Dumbledore does, but he believes that he can detect any disloyalty. Moreover, Voldemort regards Snape as highly intelligent and therefore ' as a true Slytherin ' a person whose top priority is to take care of himself. To his twisted mind, selfless equals stupid.
He was also a descendant of Slytherin himself, and could speak parseltongue. These are, of course, obvious signs that he should be placed in Slytherin.
In order to conjure the avada kedavra curse, you have to want to kill your victim. We all know that Voldemort could easily kill a child without an ounce of remorse... but not Snape. Snape didn't want to kill Dumbledore, and this was why the spell was blue instead of the usual green.
12. Snape's Last Words. In the [Deathly Hallows] book, Snape's dying words to Harry were "Look at me". Right then we did not realize the significance of his words but in the very next chapter when Harry goes through Snape's memories in the Pensieve, he comes to know how much Snape loved Lily.
"The first thing Snape asks Harry is "Potter! What would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?" According to Victorian Flower Language, asphodel is a type of lily meaning 'My regrets follow you to the grave' and wormwood means 'absence' and also typically symbolised bitter sorrow.
Professor Snape is dead on Voldemort's orders, and Harry saw it all. In his dying moments, he told Harry to take his memories and look at him one last time. Voldemort's voice then sounded through the corridors, challenging Harry to meet him in the Forbidden Forest in an hour. This is the end.
It's a word that gained so much more clarity and tragedy after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows revealed that the nefarious Professor Severus Snape was actually serving a nobler cause: protecting Harry from Voldemort out of love for Snape's childhood friend Lily Evans.
Dumbledore reveals how thoroughly he loves Harry. Harry is brave, and Dumbledore is proud as any father would be. More than that, Dumbledore succumbs to a parent's weakness; he cares more about Harry's happiness and wellbeing than the wizarding world he is trying to protect.
Although Snape may not have projected his memory of James onto Harry, he still would have been predisposed to dislike him by virtue of him being James Potter's son. Harry being in Slytherin would not have changed this fact.
Voldemort Never Figured Out Snape Was A Spy
He openly despised some of his Death Eaters, even the loyal ones like Luscious Malfoy.
Because Snape felt that Harry was his only remaining tie to Lily, and working with Dumbledore to protect Harry was his only remaining way of expressing his love for Lily, by honoring her memory. Dumbledore did keep up his part of the deal. He hid the Potters. He did everything he could to keep them safe.
In order to preserve his position as a trusted Death Eater, Severus Snape was forced to tell Voldemort the true date at which the Order planned to move Harry.
So in summary, Snape is so angry with Harry in particular because he is petty in a sense; punishing the son for the sins of a father he never knew. He's ferocious with the other houses and is only nice to his Slytherins because he needs to preserve his role as a spy.

Yet, Sirius freely admits he has not heard a rumor Snape was a Death Eater. The answer seems to be that Snape as a Death Eater was not particularly enthusiastic even as a teenager. Malfoy like Bella accuses him of being all talk and no action as a Death Eater.
Arabella Lily Snape (born 12 June 1981) was a half-blood witch and was the only daughter of Professor Severus Snape and an unknown descendant of Slytherin. She attended Hogwarts from 1992 until her death in 1998.
