"A gracious woman gains honor; violent men gain only wealth." The Good News: Any woman who is compassionate in her life will be rewarded in heaven, while those who act in anger will be punished.
Women did tasks as important as those of men, managed their households, and were equals in daily life, but all public decisions were made by men. Men had specific obligations they were required to perform for their wives including the provision of clothing, food, and sexual relations.
Biblical justice is first and foremost a matter of equity, not equality (Proverbs 2:9). There is a distinction to be made between the two and it is not an insignificant one. Any concept of justice that is not fundamentally rooted in the pursuit of equity can never be regarded as equality.
Though Church teaching, in line with its Doctors, holds that God has no literal sex because God possesses no body (a prerequisite of sex), classical and scriptural understanding states that God should be referred to (in most contexts) as masculine by analogy.
Scripture leaves no room for interpretation that God is a just ruler and desires equality for all humanity. 1 Corinthians 14:33b-36 contains the injunction by Paul that women should not speak in the church. In Nigeria, many of the mainline denominations exclude women from church leadership, basing the doctrine on this passage.
Our Lord had several women who followed and assisted Him. Then, after the resurrection, it was the women who first announced that Jesus was alive (Matthew 28:1-10, John 20:18). It was women who “preached” the resurrection. Therefore, it is argued, women can preach in the church today.
RELIGION AND GENDER EQUALITY
Religious doctrines, traditions and norms can be (mis)used to encourage and justify gender discrimination and violations of women's rights. But religion can also be a positive source of motivation and mobilisation in struggles for gender equality and non- discrimination.

We praise God for the vast diversity of creation and for fulfilling the promise to bless all the nations by including them in Christ: "I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb."
Many Hindus focus upon impersonal Absolute (Brahman) which is genderless. Other Hindu traditions conceive God as androgynous (both female and male), alternatively as either male or female, while cherishing gender henotheism, that is without denying the existence of other Gods in either gender.
The Theology of Gender Equality teaches us that we are all equal in the eyes of God, including those with a disability. As long as you are a human being, you are equal with the others in God's eyes. This means we have to respect each other.
Throughout the Old and New Testament, our call to do justice is clear. “Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute,” (Psalm 82:3). “Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, and please the widow's cause,” (Isaiah 1:17).
Injustice occurs when individual people oppress others. But it also happens when social systems and institutions are established that systematically oppress people. The call to “do justice” is not sufficiently obeyed by not committing individual acts of injustice.
