In the comics there isn't inherent meaning to colors, since symbiotes can camouflage and be whatever color they want. Venom went black with the white spider because Spidey was thinking about Spider-Woman's costume at the time when they bonded.
It could be that in the universe of the Venom movies, this type of strong bond is already known among the symbiotes to result in stronger specimens. This could explain why Venom is so fearful of facing an enemy with a ruddy hue.

Blue Symbiote (1) (Mayhem): In the comics Mayhem was a biologically reengineered being as a human and symbiote hybrid. The character April gave herself the name Mayhem to operate under in her superhuman activities, but she died in an explosion while fighting Spider-Girl.

Here's one for action figure fans, the reason why the first Venom figure was purple was because Venom was purple during costume tests! This was fixed with the Limited Edition Venom figure, with movie accurate colours.
Molten Man is able to generate intense heat from his skin as well as shoot flaming projectiles. As already noted, Venom has two major weaknesses and fire is one of them. Venom wouldn't be able to touch Molten Man without hurting himself, and that's a severe disadvantage he wouldn't be able to overcome.
