An accident with high-tech Kree energy equipment fused Mar-Vell's genetic structure with hers. She was given all of Mar-Vell's extraordinary
Perhaps the most impressive power Captain Marvel has is her ability to absorb energy. Unlike Black Panther, she doesn't only absorb kinetic energy -- she absorbs all kinds of energy.
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films, Carol received her powers from an energy exposure of an explosion when she destroyed a light-speed engine created by Mar-Vell. However, the energy comes from the Tesseract that housed one of the Infinity Stones, the Space Stone.
Mar-Vell developed the Light-Speed Engine using the energy of the Tesseract to help aid the Skrulls in ending the Kree-Skrull War. When the Light-Speed Engine exploded, Captain Marvel absorbed the energy of the Tesseract and gained cosmic powers.
Did Captain Marvel absorb the power from the Infinity Stones when she overpowered Thanos? Yes she was. You can see she gets thrown around by Thanos with ease and then once she grabs the gauntlet the energy stops being absorbed by Thanos and then she grows more powerful and then she takes 0 effect from his attacks.
Captain Marvel could use her superhuman strength, speed, and stamina to get the upper hand on a gauntlet-less Thanos. She could also absorb his Cosmic energy and shoot it back out at him, which would knock him unconscious.
How come Captain Marvel couldn't defeat Thanos in Avengers: Endgame? Captain Marvel couldn't defeat Thanos in Avengers: Endgame because he used the power of the Power Stone against her. Captain Marvel is indeed powerful, but not more powerful than the Power Stone.
Jackson finally got asked this very question during the “Captain Marvel” press tour (via IGN). Simply put, Jackson said Fury never contacted Captain Marvel because the threat against Earth was never big enough to warrant the call.
As her powers likely come at least in part from the Mind Stone inside of Loki's scepter, Wanda's abilities include telekinesis, energy manipulation, and some form of neuroelectric interfacing that allows her to both read thoughts and also give her targets waking nightmares.
Captain Marvel is arguably the MCU's strongest Avenger, and there are a few scenes that prove it. In-universe, Carol Danvers has been a superhero since 1995. However, Captain Marvel only joined the MCU in 2019.
Captain Marvel
Carol Danvers, aside from being crazy strong, indestructible, capable of interstellar flight, and able to shoot photon beams at folks, is also precognitive. She can also control gravity and light, and can manipulate and absorb radiation and magic.
As explained in ULTIMATE X-MEN (2001) #11, Ultimate Fury was transporting Weapon X through Kuwait when their convoy was ambushed. He lost his left eye in the explosion but was ultimately saved by the man who would become Wolverine. And, he's worn the eyepatch ever since!
Captain Marvel is long-lived, but she is not immortal
This gave birth to a load of theories that Captain Marvel is, in fact, immortal, but she isn't. She is simply extremely long-lived. Her alien physiology slows down the decay of her cells and prevents her from aging in a manner similar to a full-blooded human being.
In 2015, it was revealed in Uncanny Avengers (Vol. 2) #4 that she and Pietro are not mutants but humans who received superhuman genetics due to the experiments of the High Evolutionary. In Wanda's case, the High Evolutionary's genetic tampering made her more powerful in magic than she would have been otherwise.
Without question, the One Above All is the most powerful character in all of Marvel Comics. How do we know this? Well, the One Above All is literally God. The creator of every single being in existence, the One Above All is the ultimate force for good in all the multiverses.
We find out in Episode 8 that, according to Agatha, Wanda was just a “baby witch” who wouldn't have become anything special before she touched the Mind Stone and her true powers were unlocked.
When it comes to the Avengers who can beat Scarlet Witch, Doctor Strange is undoubtedly one of the most potent contenders. His ability to manipulate the fabric of reality and his mastery of the mystic arts make him a formidable adversary.
It was revealed in Captain Marvel that Fury lost his eye when Goose scratched him. Despite appearances, Goose is no ordinary cat but a Flerken, a fierce alien creature that resembles an Earth cat.
Nick Fury spent years in space because he felt useless and pointless against a powerful force like Thanos. Ever since he was Blipped back into reality in the events of 'Avengers: Endgame,' he spent most of his time in space, specifically to work on S.A.B.E.R. to oversee its development.
Following the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D. and his near fatal encounter with the Winter Soldier, Fury fakes his death and hunts down Hydra cells before assisting the Avengers in their battle against Ultron. Fury falls victim to the Blip, and upon his resurrection dedicates his time to developing the S.A.B.E.R.
Marvel fans know Captain Marvel is one of the strongest Avengers (if not one of the strongest superheroes in the Marvel Universe proper) - so much so that she's one of the very few characters who can lift Thor's hammer Mjolnir without being worthy.
Why was Captain Marvel not snapped? That's because she was pulling energy from the Stones to give her a power boost, which also explains why she didn't flinch when Thanos punched her.
