Unlike your profile, status updates on WhatsApp alert you to people who may be stalking you or just checking your account. First, first click on Status. Then press My status to see all of your recent news feed updates.
Last seen and online tell you the last time your contacts used WhatsApp, or if they're online. If a contact is online, they have WhatsApp open in the foreground on their device and are connected to the Internet. However, it doesn't necessarily mean the contact has read your message.
View the last session or any open session by tapping the vertical ellipsis (three vertical dots) menu icon. Select Linked devices. Review the Last active… list for any unknown devices.
Two blue check marks appear when all participants have read your message. Read receipts reset when you edit a message, so you can see who viewed your updates.
Make sure you have read receipts enabled.
If you aren't seeing views even though you know that people are viewing your status, you probably need to enable read receipts. The person viewing your status must also have read receipts enabled on their end in order for you to know if they have viewed your status as well.
You can toggle the 'Read Receipts' option to off. This method works for both Android and iOS devices. Now, when you view someone's status, they will not receive a notification that you have seen it.
It simply means that the other person has their phone turned off or that they're not using the Internet at the moment. They also might be having network issues. If you've been waiting for hours, but there's still only one tick, that doesn't mean that the other person is ignoring you.
If you're sure your phone is connected to the Internet, there are a few reasons why WhatsApp messages aren't going through: Your phone needs to be restarted or turned off and on. The contact you're messaging has blocked your number.
There is no official way to know if two persons are chatting on WhatsApp. However, you can try some methods to find out their online status and activity, such as calling them, using WhatsApp web, or using monitoring apps.
Any messages sent to a contact who has blocked you will always show one check mark (message sent), and never show a second check mark (message delivered). Any calls you attempt to place will not go through.
Your status updates can only be seen by someone if: You have their phone number in your phone's address book. They have your phone number in their phone's address book.
You can block any number or saved contact in your WhatsApp list to prevent them from sending any messages to us. Once you block users, they won't be able to see any of your status updates, online status and even the profile picture.
A second grey check mark means that your message has been delivered, received on the recipients' device, and isn't just floating around on the network. If the recipient has read receipts turned on, two grey check marks indicate that the recipient has received but not yet read the message.
If someone blocks you and then changes their profile picture, you won't see the new profile picture - you'll always see whatever the image was when you got blocked. This means that there isn't a definite way to tell if they're updating their profile picture.
WhatsApp does not show how many times you viewed a status. If someone on your contact list posts something on their WhatsApp status, you can view it as many times as you want. They will only see that you have viewed their status, but WhatsApp does not reveal the number of times you did.
Lack of Ability to Change Things: When a person on a sub-conscious level foresees the reality that he/she cannot change things at their homes, offices, states and country, they share their feelings (which in real world - they can't) over their whatsapp status.
Usually, this is in the range of 2 to 3 seconds after the person has closed the app. So they may appear online if they have just closed the app 2 to 3 seconds prior.
Blocking someone on WhatsApp means you will no longer receive messages and calls from them. Someone you've blocked can't see your "last seen" timestamp or status and profile picture updates. There's no direct way for someone to know you've blocked them – WhatsApp doesn't notify them.
You can mute individual or group chat notifications for a specified period of time. You'll still receive messages sent to the individual or group chat, but your phone won't vibrate or make a sound when they're received.
It's the same as an iPhone, but without the “delivered” notification (or lack thereof) to clue you in. “The simplest way to tell if you have been blocked by an Android user is to call,” Lavelle says. Just like with an iPhone, listen for it to be diverted to voicemail or play you a pre-recorded message.
For Android, go to Settings > Call Settings > Additional Settings > Caller ID. Then, select Hide Number. Your calls will remain anonymous and you can bypass the blocked list.
One tick means a message has sent, two ticks mean it has been delivered to the sender. WhatsApp has confirmed it is aware of the issue and is working to fix the problem. You can check the status of WhatsApp on the Down Detector website here.
