One of the truest ways to demonstrate your appreciation to God is to simply pray and tell Him. God loves to hear from you. He often wonders why you never call or write. Seriously though, prayer is the simplest and surest way to convey appreciation to God.
Prayer for a New Day
Dear Lord, This morning as I contemplate a new day, I ask you to help me. I want to be aware of your spirit—leading me in the decisions I take, the conversations I have, and the work I do. I want to be more like you, Jesus, as I relate to the people I meet today—friends or strangers.
I come before you, oh Lord, and drink in this moment of peace, that I may carry something of your hope, love, and joy today in my heart. Lord, grant me tenacious winsome courage as I go through this day. When I am tempted to give up, help me to keep going. Grant me a cheerful spirit when things don't go my way.
Start Your Day With Prayer
The Bible makes it clear that prayer is essential. Begin each day with a prayer to God, thanking Him for another day and asking for guidance to cope with the ups and downs that are sure to come. Starting the day with Christ is the best way to put God first and set the day in motion.
The prayer of protection. The prayer of transformation. The prayer of restoration.

Gratitude helps us see God.
Gratitude opens our spiritual eyes. There's a beautiful cycle in giving God thanks: the more we thank Him, the more we see Him working in us and around us. Gratitude helps us sense God's presence, His personal care and His perfect timing.
God wants us to be thankful, but His vision for thankfulness is bigger than a once-a-year celebration. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 tells us to give thanks all the time and for everything. We are called be thankful daily, not just once a year.

Father in heaven, I stand before You today in Your omnipotent presence to ask that You grant me strength. And I know it is also by Your will I will not go weak today.
Psalm 106:1

Father, I thank You today for the gift of praise. Thank you for revealing Yourself to me through Your Word, by Your Spirit, and in Your creation, that I might stand in awe of You. You alone are worthy of praise and glory and honor, for You have created all things, that in all things You might be preeminent.

We need to respect God, and one way we can show respect to God is to only use His name when we're talking to Him or about Him. We can't just say God's name like it's any other word. God's name is special because God is special, and we have to show respect to Him.
“Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.”
