All seven members of BTS will be serving in the South Korean military, the band's label and management company, Big Hit, announced on October 17, 2023. Big Hit announced that BTS plans to come back together as a group “around 2025,” after all seven members complete their service.
"BTS will continue to be active in various different formats, including working on solo projects," their rep said in a statement to Billboard.
The group are expected to return as a group in 2025 and explained the timeline for BTS, “Group member Jin will initiate the process as soon as his schedule for his solo release is concluded at the end of October. He will then follow the enlistment procedure of the Korean government,” the label said.

BTS also revealed they're no longer living together, adding that that's made them closer.

A statement from Hybe, the South Korean entertainment company behind BTS, said they'll still be working on projects as a group, as well as individually. “BTS are not taking a hiatus.
Though each member is carrying out their individual plans and solo projects, BTS is not breaking up. During their FESTA 2022 video to celebrate the anniversary of their debut, RM said that the group would be taking a break from activities to focus on what they want as a musical group.
Two members, Kim Seokjin (better known as Jin) and Jung Hoseok or JHope are already serving in the military. As per a South Korean law, all men have to enlist in the military and serve a period of 18 months, before they turn 28. For BTS, the government elevated the joining age to 30.
As many BTS fans (known as ARMY) know, BTS will not break up. J-Hope is only leaving to serve his military enlistment duty. In the same Weverse announcement, Big Hit added, “Both the company and the members of BTS are looking forward to reconvening as a group again around 2025 following their service commitment.”
Busan is one of five countries competing to host the 2030 World Expo scheduled to take place May 1, 2030 to October 31, 2030. BTS is committed to hold a global concert and participate in various other promotional activities to support Busan's bid to host the event.

Golden Hyung J-hope is 28 now and he will turn 31 by 2025. The same with the BTS leader RM aka Kim Namjoon, he will be 31 by the time he returns. 95 line members Jimin and V will be 30 by 2025. And golden maknae, Jungkook will be 28 by 2025.
BTS members are busy with their solo projects. Jimin has already released his solo album FACE but looks like he has other schedules as well. The singer recently left for New York.
The BTS ARMY, their group of dedicated, loyal fans is no different. While there have been rumors of BTS members dating in the past, none of those relationships were ever confirmed.
