The group of superheroes—or, as the show calls them, "supes"—at the center of The Boys is called The Seven.
The Seven's original lineup includes Homelander, Black Noir, Queen Maeve, Mister Marathon, Lamplighter, Translucent, and The Deep. Whatever happened to Mister Marathon is currently unknown, but following his departure from the team, he was replaced by A-Train as The Seven's speedster.
Contrary to popular belief, most Supers are not born with their abilities, but are instead the results of children whom, with the permission of their parents, were heavily medicated with Compound V; an alchemical super serum known to produce permanent superpowers in human subjects.
The grand finale of The Boys comic book series confirms that there is only one hero who is actually stronger than Homelander, and that's his (even more) evil clone, Black Noir. Created to be an upgraded version of Homelander, Black Noir proves his superiority in the final battle between these two deranged powerhouses.
Blue Hawk (Nick Wechsler) is a local supe who is called out by A-Train for over-policing Black neighborhoods. His powers include super strength, durability, and stamina – he is able to throw people across the room without issue and survived the explosion caused by Solider Boy during Herogasm.
In the comics, Black Noir is a long-time member of the Seven, almost always shown in silhouette with his face obscured. His powers include super strength and supposed skills as a pilot. He is stronger than even Homelander; Mother's Milk states he can "[...] bench a dozen Mack trucks".
“Homelander is basically the weakest character in the show. So he's constantly covering that up and covering up the fact that he's actually incredibly vulnerable, and ultimately weak, even though he's the physically strongest person on the show.” Starr admits.
Yup, Soldier Boy is Homelander's biological father. Suddenly all these daddy issues make a lot more sense. This character element isn't from the original The Boys comics, but was something Kripke and the writer's room came up with for the show.
Superhuman Strength: One of Queen Maeve's primary abilities is tremendously enhanced superhuman strength, far greater than that of normal human beings. She was one of the most physically powerful Supes to have ever lived, only surpassed by Homelander.
Powers. Sonic Clap: By clapping his hands together, Supersonic could generate powerful sound waves. He appears to have a great control over the intensity of each sound wave produced by his claps. His powers were demonstrated in the "Rock My Kiss" music video, produced in 2008 by the Vought Music Group.
History. Stormfront was the first Supe ever created, turned into one by Nazi Germany as a child, and though Jonah Vogelbaum insisted to Vought that he be destroyed , he was taken to America, where he grew up to become a popular hero.
Homelander then enters the office and announces that A-Train is out of The Seven due him no longer being able to run at super speed without heart problems, and that makes The Seven, him, look weak if The Seven's Speedster isn't in the top 20 anymore.
Starlight is a parody of both Doctor Light and Stargirl as well Mary Marvel costume with little Powergirl-influenced outfit.
Blindspot. Another supe so close to joining The Seven, Blindspot (Chris Mark), was scouted as a replacement for Translucent until Homelander overruled the decision. Given quite the apt name, Blindspot had no vision but made up for it with his hyper-awareness and super hearing.
Starlight is the one member of The Seven who has genuinely good intentions and wants to help people. Unfortunately for her, she's not the most powerful member of the team, so she has to work with others to influence The Seven from the inside and stop her villainous co-members from committing evil.
In the original comics, the Vought-American Corporation creates Black Noir as an identical genetic clone of Homelander who is the only member of the team that can match him in strength.
Even though Soldier Boy could not take down Homelander with the help of Hughie and Butcher (Karl Urban) using temporary doses of Compound V, it was abundantly clear that he is still the closest anyone has been to the individual strength of Homelander.
But for the sake of underlining how much went down in the episode, here we go: Homelander (Antony Starr) kills Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell); the Deep (Chace Crawford) kills Robert Singer's (Jim Beaver) VP pick and the slot goes to secret supe Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit); Starlight/Annie (Erin Moriarty) flies with ...
In the "What I Know" arc, Butcher is revealed to have killed Soldier Boy with a public funeral being held for him and members of the Seven (including the Homelander) serving as his pallbearers.
However, Noir's fear of Soldier Boy is surprisingly bigger than his loyalty to Homelander. When Noir escaped from Vought due to the news of Soldier Boy returning, Homelander was genuinely distraught over the news as he believed Noir always had his back.
Homelander and Soldier Boy have sex in the "Herogasm" stretch of #TheBoys comics, though that didn't happen in the Amazon series' take on the storyline. This week's episode explained why. "The Boys" star Jensen Ackles breaks down the major twist between Soldier Boy and Homelander revealed ahead of next week's finale.
One of the most powerful characters on The Boys, Homelander has heightened levels of superstrength, durability, stamina, and senses. He also possesses heat vision that he can either choose to shoot with a laser focus or use as a concussive force from his eyes.
Starlight. Starlight is by far the most heroic member of the Seven. Her big dream is to join the team because she believes it will be the best way to help people. Starlight - or Annie - is caring and kind, wants the best for the world and those she loves.
What Makes Him Pure Evil. Becoming obsessed with his mission to terminate Homelander, Black Noir sought to frame the real Homelander just so he could get the order to kill him. Black Noir thus went on numerous rampages disguised as Homelander, in which he raped and murdered dozens of innocent people and even ate babies ...
