Marceline is a half-human/half-demon, turned into a half-vampire/half-demon after being bitten, and the eponymous Vampire Queen, after having killed the previous Vampire King many years prior to the start of the show. Although she is 1,000 years old, she takes on the physical appearance of a teenager.
Ash is Marceline's immortal ex-boyfriend who appears in "Memory of a Memory." Marceline broke up with him because he sold Hambo, her favorite teddy bear, to a witch in exchange for a new Cherry Blossom Wand.
She usually appears bodily to be eighteen years old, though her actual age is given as 827; she was born hundreds of years before the events of the series from a gum-like ooze, the "Mother Gum." Marceline is a half-demon and half-human vampire. She assumed the title "Vampire Queen" after having killed the previous Vampire King prior to the start of the show. Although she is over 1,000 years old, she takes on the physical appearance of an 18- to 21-year-old.
Since she never became a vampire, Marceline aged over the past 1,000 years (much more slowly than humans due to the fact that she is half demon). She is ultimately killed when the mushroom bomb goes off and she falls within its liquid, her final act being an attempt to save Finn from the Lich-possessed Jake.
Years later, Finn and Roselinen have married and had two children, Bonnie and Jay. Quilton tells them that an ancient book has been discovered revealing that the door to Finn's world appears periodically.
Character Information
Marceline is a bisexual character from Adventure Time.
First Appearance: Evicted! Marceline, the Vampire Queen (full name: Marceline Abadeer) is one of the main characters in Adventure Time and a vampire that is over a millennium old. During Finn and Jake's first encounters with her, she requests that they leave wherever they are as the areas belong to her.
Marceline stopped aging when she became an immortal vampire. It's confirmed that Princess Bubblegum lives longer than humans since she was already over 800 years old at the start of the series.
By the end of S03, Pen Ward revealed Finn to be 14. In S05E32 (“Earth & Water”), Finn's girlfriend, the Flame Princess' age was said to be 15, which hints at how old is Finn too because in S03E26 (“Incendium”), his best friend Jake said they were the same age.
In addition, Hunson Abadeer is shown to be rational, cold and calculating. However, he is not totally emotionless, as he appears to be deeply moved by hearing his daughter's song. He confirmed that he loves Marceline, and that he was deeply sorry he ate her fries, never meaning to hurt her.
Married to the Job - The reason for their break up was that Bubblegum got too busy running the Candy Kingdom, and couldn't make time for Marceline. Bubbline is the femslash ship between Marceline Abadeer and Princess Bubblegum from the Adventure Time fandom.
From Marceline's maternal side, the episode "Everything Stays" revealed that she possesses genes from a dark-skinned race, although evidently, the phenotype associated with these genes are recessive.
2021 Who Would Win Tournament Nomination
Bonnie to Marceline ("Obsidian") “I Love You, Ok?” Princess Bonnibel "Bonnie" Bubblegum (often called PB and occasionally Peebles, Bub-Bubs, or P-Bubs) is one of the main characters of the series Adventure Time and first appeared in the animated short.
Marceline was born to an unnamed human mother (voiced by Rebecca Sugar) and the demon Hunson Abadeer. When she was a child, the cataclysmic Mushroom War occurred, and soon after, she developed a father-daughter-like bond with Simon Petrikov, who would one day turn into the Ice King.
Canonically, BMO has no gender and is referred to throughout the show by both masculine and feminine pronouns. They take on hyper-masculine and -feminine traits during different storylines, but for the most part could be considered agender.
Gunter as a boy's name is of German origin, and the meaning of Gunter is "battler or warrior".
Of course, BMO has no biological gender, so there's no cultural expectations that anchors her (him?) down. It all seems to be a non-issue in the Adventure Time world.
In February 2021 it was announced that Adventure Time: Distant Lands episode "BMO" had won a Kidscreen Award for Best One-Off, Special or TV Movie. BMO was also, previously, confirmed as a genderfluid character.
Finn Wolfhard and Elsie Richter have been dating since early 2021 and confirmed their relationship with a cute now-deleted pic a few months later. Find out more about Elsie and her very private romance with Finn here.
339: Marceline is nonbinary, bi, and very much in love with Bonnibel.
