In 2021, the cost of 1GB of mobile phone data in the US cost an average of just $3.33. However, that number has jumped by 69% to $5.62 in 2022. By comparison, the cost of 1GB of data in the UK dropped from $1.42 in 2021 to $0.79 in 2022, a decrease of 44 percent.
One GB of mobile internet data costs just INR 13.98 (about $0.17), making India one of the cheapest countries in the world. It is astounding to see the wide range of prices that different people are willing to pay for the same quantity of goods.
The cheapest data rates can be observed in Israel where 1GB of data on average costs just USD 0.04 (~ Rs 3.29) and goes all the way up to USD 41.06 (~ Rs 3,376) in Saint Helena, an island part of the British Overseas Territory. The rates in India are one of the cheapest at just Rs 13.98 for 1GB of mobile internet data.
Topping the list is Equatorial Guinea, where one gigabyte of mobile data costs a whopping $49.67.
However, unlike these similarly developed countries, Australia placed 50th on the list, with an average cost of $2.47 per 1GB of data, which is many times lower than the global average of $8.53 per gig. Those prices are obviously hard to beat.

In Zimbabwe, the average price of 1GB of data is $4.92, with the cheapest plan being $1.73 and the most expensive being $12.92. In the region, the price of data is the cheapest in Tanzania, where the average cost of 1GB is $0.71.
The standard was set to 1GB to analyze the data and rank the countries. As per the research, Pakistan has the 33rd cheapest mobile data rates in the world, having an average cost of $1.85 per GB which translates roughly to Rs. 258.73.
