18×24 is an appropriate and normal poster size for any project, as it can be enjoyed both up close and from a distance. This is also the regular poster size used for framing, so you have many options for displaying 18×24 posters.
A2 poster size measures 420mm x 594mm or 16.53 x 23.39 inch. A2 size is typically used for posters, drawings and outdoor advertising.
One of the most common poster sizes you'll see these days is the A2.
A2 Printing Resolution
The resolution needed to print A2 size images with the best quality is 420 x 594 mm at 300 PPI (pixels per inch).
A2 poster stands are used for free-standing poster display - generally stood on the floor. A1 display stands can either be at eye level or else the A-frame type - with the poster displayed closer to the floor.

Equivalent A2 paper dimensions in pixels at 300 DPI and 72 DPI respectively are: 4961 pixels x 7016 pixels (print resolution) 1191 pixels x 1648 pixels (screen resolution)
Standard Paper Sizes
A3 has its shortest edge (297mm) doubled to be the longest edge of A2 (594mm). And similarly up to A0.
The A2 size print measures 42.0 x 59.4cm, 16.53 x 23.39 inches, if mounted 59.4 x 76.6cm, 23.39 x 30.16 inches. The A3 size print measures 29.7 x 42.0cm, 11.69 x 16.53 inches, if mounted 40.6 x 50.8cm, 15.98 x 20 inches.
A2 poster size is 594mm x 420mm. What type of paper do you print A2 posters on? We offer 3 different choices of paper for our indoor posters: 180gsm matt paper, 210gsm satin paper, and 225gsm photo-gloss paper.
We recommend using a point size of 8pt or above. However, some fonts may print just as well at smaller sizes.
Staples white poster boards have dimensions of 22 x 28 inches. This space is large enough to include plenty of ideas, while writing large enough that even people at the back of the room can read every word.
JPG, GIF and TIFF are examples of raster file formats. Vector images, such as EPS and AI are what we recommend for large format printing.
Small Posters: A3 = 29.7 x 42 cm or 11.69 x 16.54 inches
The smallest size poster would be A3, twice the size of A4.
The A2 format is 420 x 594 mm or 42 x 59.4 cm. In inches, A2 paper has a size of 16.5in x 23.4in. These dimensions mean A2 is normally the perfect choice for calendars, posters and larger format printing.
Different paper sizes are used for different things From your standard A4 magazine down to a business card which is typically around 85mm x 55mm.
4×6 prints are perfect for framed photos, cards and for a physical backup of any of your favorite digital images. 5×7: A slightly larger format than standard 4×6 images, 5×7 prints have a higher aspect ratio than 4×6 prints, so cropping your image to your personal specifications is important!
If you want to show off bold, bright images or photographs to an important client, 1200 DPI is your best option. Professional photographers may need resolutions as high as 2880 by 1440 DPI or even more. This insight also applies to paper. Your choice of paper significantly increases the quality of your prints.
The third-largest format for printing and almost as popular as its A1 sibling, the A2 size is ideal for plenty of marketing collateral products and other projects.
