Caffeine and Other Stimulants

Sourdough is made with a starter so there is no active yeast added to the mix. However, the starter comes from naturally occurring yeast spores that float around in the environment. For this reason, I recommend avoiding sourdough when doing a Candida cleanse.
Plain Yogurt
Opt for a plain cup of Greek yogurt for an extra boost of protein. Regardless, as long as the yogurt label expresses that it has probiotics and/or live cultures, it will be an effective remedy. Just make sure to steer clear of any flavored varieties because sugar is what Candida feasts on.
Foods to eat on a candida diet:
Non-starchy vegetables like asparagus, broccoli, bean sprouts, carrots, cauliflower, cucumber, eggplant, mushrooms, salad greens, tomato and zucchini.
Butter and ghee are acceptable because they are low in lactose (especially ghee). Some cheeses might be OK on the Candida diet, particularly those that are low in lactose, but these cheeses still likely contain large amounts of casein. Milk is generally off the menu, again because of the lactose and casein.

Sourdough is naturally leavened bread, which means it doesn't use commercial yeast to rise. Instead, it uses a 'starter' – a fermented flour and water mixture that contains wild yeast and good bacteria – to rise. This also produces the tangy flavour and slightly chewy texture you'll find in sourdough.
