However, Noir's fear of Soldier Boy is surprisingly bigger than his loyalty to Homelander. When Noir escaped from Vought due to the news of Soldier Boy returning, Homelander was genuinely distraught over the news as he believed Noir always had his back.
Just like the other supes, Black Noir was tired of Soldier Boy's abuse, but the turning point came via an offer from Stan Edgar. In another flashback, we learn that Edgar asked Black Noir to make Soldier Boy “fade away” as Vought scientist Jonah Vogelbaum had a “replacement” for him.
Probably because Edgar or Vought had commanded him to do so. But Homelander wasn't concerned about anything or anyone at all, except for himself, and killing Noir made him feel powerful.
Noir lost his ability to think properly and speak after Soldier Boy violently beat part of his brain in and stuck his face on top of a burning car. This left Noir horrifically disfigured, rendering him with the same mental age as a 7 year old child.
Black Noir Was A Member Of Soldier Boy's Payback Team
Butcher then cements the connection by suggesting Maeve should look a little closer to home in Seven Tower for more information about Soldier Boy's death.
Maeve explains that Black Noir has a tree nut allergy, a simple but genuinely surprising weakness for such a mysterious and seemingly immortal figure.
In episode 7, more important details come to light through a recreation of the incident by Black Noir's imaginary cartoon friends and Mindstorm's confession to Soldier Boy. Black Noir was physically abused by Soldier Boy when he tried getting an acting role.
In the "What I Know" arc, Butcher is revealed to have killed Soldier Boy with a public funeral being held for him and members of the Seven (including the Homelander) serving as his pallbearers.
Payback used the Soviet attack to betray Soldier Boy. Benjamin found himself ambushed by his teammates who launched a brutal attack against him. Although Noir's face was deformed and he suffered brain damage, the team were successful in knocking Soldier Boy out, by using Novichok gas, and handed him to the Russians.
“God please bless me I've been patient.” Soulja also shared a photo of him with his hand on his girlfriend's pregnant belly during the gender reveal party. According to TMZ, the mother of Soulja's child, is celebrity hairstylist Jackie, whose clients include Nicki Minaj, Brandy, Kim Kardashian, and The Weeknd.
However, Starlight does not die in the comics when the story finally comes to a close. She is fully prepared to die trying to defeat Homelander, but Queen Maeve actually saves her from his wrath. This results in Homelander killing Queen Maeve, and Black Noir later is the one responsible for killing The Seven's leader.
Even after being a ruthless hunter, he spares the life of the little kid. Later in the season, he is seen crying as he finds out about the compound V news, which hints that he might have had a good relationship with his parents and guardians, and is now disheartened thinking that they probably used him.
In the comics, Black Noir is a long-time member of the Seven, almost always shown in silhouette with his face obscured. His powers include super strength and supposed skills as a pilot. He is stronger than even Homelander; Mother's Milk states he can "[...] bench a dozen Mack trucks".
During Payback's fight against Soldier Boy, Black Noir received catastrophic brain injuries that left him both unable to verbally communicate and saddled with bizarre hallucinations of cartoon animals.
He is stronger than Homelander, who could hurl a fighter jet with one hand and kill Queen Maeve with just one punch. Superhuman Durability: Black Noir can withstand Homelander's heat vision and multiple anti-supe bullets.
However, viewers will likely wonder why Black Noir's healing powers have not helped him recover from these injuries. He has healed from a variety of severe injuries throughout the duration of The Boys, but Black Noir's scars are too severe for even him to overcome.
Regenerative Healing Factor: Noir's body is capable of healing injuries and wounds at a much faster rate then normal humans can. From multiple explosions, fire and heat, point-blank gunshot wounds, getting pelted with shrapnel, whatever the injury, it seems to heal within hours or at maximum, days.
THE BOYS' Black Noir is obviously supposed to be a parody or alternate version of Batman. Just like every member of The Seven (other than Translucent).
He had several enemies, such as Coagula, Sexface, and an unnamed naked girl who is a spoof of Poison Ivy. Eventually, Black Noir went insane due to not being able to complete the mission, and being forced to reside and interact with his target.
Starlight is a parody of both Doctor Light and Stargirl as well Mary Marvel costume with little Powergirl-influenced outfit.
What Makes Him Pure Evil. Becoming obsessed with his mission to terminate Homelander, Black Noir sought to frame the real Homelander just so he could get the order to kill him. Black Noir thus went on numerous rampages disguised as Homelander, in which he raped and murdered dozens of innocent people and even ate babies ...
Trivia. Soldier Boy is a villainous parody of the Marvel comics superhero Captain America and antihero The Winter Soldier. Just like Captain America, he fought in WWII, uses a shield and became a hero before "dying" only to be found alive decades later and be placed in the modern world.
Noir does not tell anyone, including his best buddy and captain Homelander (Antony Starr), where he went and is living there in seclusion — while joined by several imaginary cartoon friends.
Maeve was eventually killed while protecting Starlight from Homelander and Black Noir, though Homelander easily overpowered her after she struck him on the head with her sword, shattering it in the process. He then flung her decapitated head at Starlight as she flew away from The Seven's headquarters.
Betrayed By Hughie
However, it also represents one more person who deceived Starlight and made her feel as though she was being used by someone she loves. Though their meeting was initially coincidental, Hughie is persuaded to use her to get to Vought.
