The doctrine of “once saved, always saved” teaches that it is not possible for a child of God to sin in such a way that he will be lost. Many people, who undoubtedly are very sincere and possess a desire to do what is right, find tremendous comfort in this doctrine. This doctrine, however, is not taught in the Bible.
Once Saved - The Gift of Salvation is Eternal
The Bible teaches us that Jesus Christ is our salvation and that it is found in no one else but Him. “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
One denominational preacher wrote, “once one is saved there is nothing he can do, from adultery to murder, that will cause him to be lost.” This teaching, also known as “the impossibility of apostasy,” is a doctrine attributed to John Calvin and is one of the five pillars of what has come to be called “Calvinism.”
Any believer, who renounces their faith in Christ and subscribes to a belief system that is diametrically opposed to it, can lose their salvation and become an unbeliever.
Furthermore, we must realize that God is not unrighteous by not saving everyone. God chooses to save sinners unconditionally and acts in mercy to save those who do not deserve it. That includes all of God's children.
In Mark 3:29 Jesus says that “whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin.” Matthew's account adds that even blasphemy against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but not blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (Matthew 12:31–32).
Put simply, our salvation depends solely on the person and work of Jesus Christ. As we continue to trust in him, we will experience the power of the Holy Spirit at work in our lives to make us more like Jesus. When we see this happening, our assurance that we truly are one of God's children grows.
A transaction takes place when you come to faith in Jesus in which the power of his shed blood is applied to your life. Your sins are forgiven, your judgment is taken, your condemnation is gone, and the deal is done. It is by grace that you have been saved.
We are not saved alone. Salvation is the will of God for everyone and everything (2 Peter 3:9). And many have united themselves already to the will of God. And like the will of God, they become part of our salvation.
How can I be saved? To be saved from the coming wrath of God you need to recognize your need for a Savior, repent and turn away from your sins, and put your faith and trust in Jesus, believing He is the only way you can be saved and accepting Him as your Lord and Savior.
Islam teaches that no one can gain salvation simply by virtue of their belief or deeds, instead it is the Mercy of God, which merits them salvation. However, this repentance must not be used to sin any further. Islam teaches that God is Merciful.
Jesus Christ is the one who saves because he saved us from the evil one (the devil). God is Almighty, and we should thank God every day for saving our lives. God is the only god that saves.
Faith, 2. Repentance, 3. Water Baptism, 4. Spirit Infilling, 5.
No passage in the New Testament says that water baptism is essential for getting into heaven. Therefore, baptism is not necessary as a means of obtaining eternal life.
There are two things to remember here: (1) God's mercy is indeed infinite, and (2) true repentance means forsaking your sins. On the one hand, because of the infinite Atonement of Jesus Christ, repentance is available to everyone, even those who have made the same mistakes many times.
One eternal or unforgivable sin (blasphemy against the Holy Spirit), also known as the sin unto death, is specified in several passages of the Synoptic Gospels, including Mark 3:28–29, Matthew 12:31–32, and Luke 12:10, as well as other New Testament passages including Hebrews 6:4–6, Hebrews 10:26–31, and 1 John 5:16.
Jesus forgives all sin
The Bible teaches that the blood Jesus' shed on the cross covers all sin, including infidelity. “… the blood of Jesus, God's Son, purifies us from all sin” (1 John 1:7). This means that any sin we commit, including infidelity, can be forgiven when we come to Jesus with a repentant heart.
(1 Corinthians 13:8). That means God will never fail to love. Accordingly, Jesus, our saviour, will not fail to save. Indeed, Jesus will not stop saving until he has saved every human being that has ever lived.
Do I still go to heaven? THE ANSWER IS YES!!! When Jesus died on the cross, he paid the penalty of sin for all who believe in him. He died for your past, present and future sin.
God's forgiveness and love are unconditional. He loved us while we were still sinners (Romans 5:8) and we cannot earn His love by our good works. We are forgiven based on the perfect work of Jesus Christ. God does, however, require repentance in order to grant forgiveness.
Jesus, in fact, says there is only one 'Road' to heaven—through Him. “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life,” said Jesus. “No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6).
(John14:6) The way to Heaven is only through Jesus Christ, and Jesus Christ alone. Our Lord Jesus Christ is Himself the way to Heaven. He does not merely show the way; He is the way. Salvation is only in the person of Jesus Christ.
Yes, God gave his only son Christ Jesus as the sacrifice for our sins when we acknowledge Jesus as our saviour we ask for forgiveness of our sins and become Born Again. Then and only then, can we inherit the kingdom of God. An eternal relationship with our creator is through Christ Jesus our Lord.
Christians believe they need salvation from sin because sin stops people from having a proper relationship with God. All Christians believe that Jesus saved people from sin (atonement) by his death on the cross. Catholics and Orthodox Christians believe that Jesus brings salvation through the sacraments of the Church.
