In this article, I briefly review research on nepiophilia (infant/toddlers), pedophilia (prepubescent children), hebephilia (pubescent children), ephebophilia (postpubescent, sexually maturing adolescents), teleiophilia (young sexually mature adults, typically 20s and 30s), mesophilia (middle-aged adults, typically 40s ...
Hebephilia and ephebophilia
Hebephilia is the term used to describe a preferential sexual interest in pubescent (i.e. early adolescent) individuals, rather than adult partners. As with paedophilia, it is not a term that would be applied to under-16s.
Understanding the terminology
Lastly, the individual must be at least age 16 years and at least 5 years older than the child. Sexual attraction to peri- or postpubescent minors is not considered a psychiatric disorder, but is illegal.
Attraction to adults. Teleiophilia (from Greek téleios, "full grown") is a sexual preference for adults, spcifically for adult body types, as it also technically encompasses sexual attraction towards postpubertal, sexually mature teenagers. Dr.
First, I'd like to let you know that there's nothing wrong with teleiophilia. It's just the sexual preference for adults—NOT just people older than you. Most people are teleiophilic. It's only a concern when you experience pedophilia when you're not around that age and you act on it.
Ephebophilia is the primary sexual interest in mid-to-late adolescents, generally ages 15 to 19. The term was originally used in the late 19th to mid-20th century. It is one of a number of sexual preferences across age groups subsumed under the technical term chronophilia.
In psychoanalytic theory, the Jocasta complex is the incestuous sexual desire of a mother towards her son.
A Canadian forensic psychologist and sexologist has coined the new term to describe people who are attracted to individuals typically in their 40s and 50s.
Yes it's totally normal to be attracted to someone 13. It's wrong to act out on such attraction. It is not “normal" to go online and get validation for such attraction.
chronophilia (uncountable) Primary or exclusive sexual attraction toward members of a specific age group, as with paedophilia or gerontophilia.
Cognitive markers of sexual desire emerge during early puberty, including identifiable sexual thoughts and sexual attractions. About 25% of young adults report “thinking a lot about sex” as 11–12 year olds (both boys and girls) (Larsson & Svedin, 2002).
Some kids may start expressing interest in having a boyfriend or girlfriend as early as age 10 while others are 12 or 13 before they show any interest. The key is for parents to remember that the tween years are a time of transition.
An adult (male or female) could be attracted to teens (16–19), but that does not mean they want to have a relationship with them. It's okay for an adult to say, “she is pretty” or “he is handsome”. If your interest in them stops at simply admiring, then it's fine.

Close in age exceptions
There is also a "close in age" exception for 12 and 13 year olds. A 12 or 13 year old can consent to sexual activity with a partner as long as the partner is less than two years older and there is no relationship of trust, authority or dependency or any other exploitation of the young person.
Why do children get clingy? A child can show clinginess due to a fear of being away from their parents (separation anxiety) or because of stranger anxiety, where the fear is more about being around people the child doesn't know.
Parentification occurs when parents look to their children for emotional and/or practical support, rather than providing it. Hence, the child becomes the caregiver. As a result, parentified children are forced to assume adult responsibilities and behaviors before they are ready to do so.
DSM-IV and DSM-IV-TR define pedophilia as “recurrent, intense sexually arousing fantasies, sexual urges, or behaviors involving activity with a prepubescent child or children (generally 13 years or younger).” These feelings, urges, or behaviors must persist for at least 6 months.
That is basically a junior in high school finding a freshman or early sophomore attractive. So, yes, that is normal. Guys will generally learn (often the hard way) that you look for a few seconds and that's it.
It's perfectly normal. For one thing “young adult” includes 16–17 years old. Most people up to, say, 25 or so are attracted to people between, roughly, 15–25 (gross generalisations here, of course).
First crushes may occur at any time, but generally start at around 10-13 years of age. They are an important step in developing normal and healthy romantic relationships, and provide opportunities to learn how to compromise and communicate.
In Most states of the USA their proximity in age and the fact that he is under 16 or in some cases under 18 would result in this case not being prosecuted. A 15 year old boy being attracted to an 11 or 12 year old girl is not that unusual. It certainly isn't pathological. Therefore it is not pedophilia.
There is not a set age that is appropriate for your teen to start dating. Sixteen and seventeen-year-olds are much more emotionally mature and have more life experience than younger adolescents.
