2 Powers and Abilities
Butcher can't fly and it's not yet known if he has X-ray vision or super hearing, but he does have enough of the same powers as Homelander that he is able to actually engage him physically and not only survive, but potentially best the superhero.
Butcher And Hughie's Powers Still Aren't Permanent
The reveal that Temp-V is deadly after three to five doses means that either Butcher and Hughie will give up their abilities in the near future or that they are poised to die by remaining powerful.
The Boys' supes get their power from Compound V, a serum that is widely unpredictable but offers those who take it some type of superpower. In the comics, Butcher gets his hands on some Compound V and makes himself and the other Boys incredibly strong supe-killing supes in the process.
Powers and abilities
In the show, Hughie gains the power of teleportation, accelerated healing, and superhuman strength after taking a temporary variant of Compound V, however he is only able to teleport himself and not his clothes, leaving him (and anyone he teleports with him) naked when he re-materializes.
He is described as having a strong connection with both Female and Billy, however, he has killer instincts and his anger is hard to reign in once provoked. Similar to Female of the Species, the Frenchman's use of Compound V has given him abilities such as increased strength, smell and increased durability.
Kimiko also forms tight friendships with Hughie and Starlight. Though she isn't always a fan of her powers, she never hesitates to use them to protect the people she cares for. Kimiko is the strongest hero of The Boys, with heightened levels of superhuman strength, durability, speed, and reflexes.
The grand finale of The Boys comic book series confirms that there is only one hero who is actually stronger than Homelander, and that's his (even more) evil clone, Black Noir. Created to be an upgraded version of Homelander, Black Noir proves his superiority in the final battle between these two deranged powerhouses.
Make no mistake, Homelander is more powerful than Soldier Boy, but can he take him out in a fight? We don't think so. Besides, unlike Homelander, who probably wants all the credit for himself, Soldier Boy isn't above asking for help.
While Supe'd up, Butcher may be stronger than most regular Supes, he is still not as strong as Homelander on an even playing field. Not only is Homelander faster and stronger than Billy Butcher but he's also more durable, surviving some of the comics' most brutal injuries.
Thanks to Temp V, a brand new Vought serum he's gotten his hands on, Butcher can now withstand gunshots and shoot lasers from his eyes, which an NRA-obsessed supe named Gunpowder learns the hard way.
Though Hughie can punch through body armor, Hughie's slightly enhanced strength poses no threat to Homelander. Yes, Hughie can hold his own against some supes while on Temp V, but he still has no chance of taking down Homelander on his own.
Hughie Campbell, Crimson Countess, Lamplighter (3 deaths)
This count includes the memorable Translucent death by Hughie's hand and the tragic killing of Grace Mallory's grandchildren committed by Lamplighter.
Butcher's laser eyes are a different color from Homelander and Ryan's because Butcher's yellow lasers might actually be stronger than the red lasers, if going by the color of the lasers having the same meaning as real-world lasers. Real lasers also vary in color.
During the fight they fell to a lower platform; the Butcher broke his neck and was paralyzed by falling. Instead of being imprisoned as a paraplegic, he persuaded Hughie to finish him off, falsely claiming that he had already killed his family. Enraged, Hughie drove a metal spike into his chest, killing him.
With the genes of the most powerful man in the world, it's no surprise that Ryan Butcher (Cameron Crovetti) tops this list. Despite his young age, Ryan has already shown glimpses of powers that will make him equally strong, if not stronger, than Homelander.
However, Noir's fear of Soldier Boy is surprisingly bigger than his loyalty to Homelander. When Noir escaped from Vought due to the news of Soldier Boy returning, Homelander was genuinely distraught over the news as he believed Noir always had his back.
Superhuman Strength: One of Queen Maeve's primary abilities is tremendously enhanced superhuman strength, far greater than that of normal human beings.
Though Captain America is one of the most beloved Marvel superheroes, his skills and abilities may not be enough to overtake the powerful Homelander. Though his vibranium shield may be able to hold off Homelander's heat vision, Homelander's other powers may give him the edge to easily overpower Cap. ...
Homelander's Real Weakness Is That He Craves Love & Adoration. Homelander is a vile and twisted character who comes alive in the public eye. Deep down, he's a true villain, but, whenever cameras are filming and people are watching, he does his best impression of a bright and hopeful hero.
In the comic, Soldier Boy is a cowardly Supe without much power, certainly not enough to kill Homelander, so the show is charting its own course here.
Yup, Soldier Boy is Homelander's biological father. Suddenly all these daddy issues make a lot more sense. This character element isn't from the original The Boys comics, but was something Kripke and the writer's room came up with for the show.
As her superhero name suggests, Starlight can absorb electricity and send it out in a blast of light. That's enough to blind her opponents temporarily or knock them out. She's also stronger and less likely to get hurt than others.
4 Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara)
She was experimented on with Compound V, leaving her mute but with extreme power and strength. On top of that, she can heal herself so she's basically indestructible.
However, Noir is not indestructible, as Hughie was able to shoot through the palm of his hand with a pistol at point blank and as Homelander was able to kill him by ripping out his guts after punching his chest. Superhuman Speed: According to Mother's Milk, Black Noir can outrun a car.
