Blue seems to be the universal thread for those who apologize in public, perhaps because in the language of color, blue is the hue we trust most. Police officers wear blue.
Purple or blue hyacinths signify constancy, regret and sincerity. This makes them great apology flowers for letting that special someone know that you are truly sorry and that you're still hoping to be a constant in their life.
Avoid bright colors. A tone on tone color scheme is unobtrusive and dignified, and provides just the backdrop you want while ingratiating yourself to the public again. Lastly, wearing anything with even a hint of flashiness will not help your case, like too much bling or say, a big Robbin's egg blue bow-tie.
White Tulips
The large, showy, and white coloured Tulips are the flowers to say sorry as it represents forgiveness and peace.
Blue is the color of forgiveness.
It represents calm, harmony, and connection to the throat chakra, which can help you forgive. There is a peacefulness to blue, which tells us that forgiveness cannot be present as the two cannot share a space.
White tulips are hailed as one of the most traditional “I'm sorry” flowers because of its association to springtime and new beginnings. Giving white tulips in the context of an apology means you want to start over. Yellow tulips, on the other hand, symbolize friendship, cheerful vibes, and turning a frown into a smile.
A sincere apology should acknowledge the mistakes and try to show that you have learned from them. It can be as simple as saying, “I regret my decision” or “I apologize for my mistake”. It should not sound like an excuse or justify what you did wrong in any way.
In five chapters, I discuss what I call the five Rs of apology: recognition, responsibility, remorse, restitution, and repetition.
I realize I hurt your feelings, and I'm sorry," acknowledges that you know what it was you said that hurt the other person, and you take responsibility for it. Don't make assumptions and don't try to shift the blame. Make it clear that you regret your actions and that you are sincerely sorry.
Blue also represents meanings of depth, trust, loyalty, sincerity, wisdom, confidence, stability, faith, and intelligence.
Yellow flowers can be used to express a deep apology to a close friend you may have hurt or misunderstood. Pink: This romantic color represents gratitude and is a symbol of love.
White is linked to sincerity as it is associated with purity, cleanness, simplicity, hygiene, clarity, and peace. It can be also associated with happiness according to one study.
A genuine apology shows that you feel sorry for your actions and want to do better. It also gives the other person a chance to process their own feelings. You've taken the first step to fix the damage.
The defensive apology
This one takes a bit of finesse and sleight-of-hand to pull off and it may actually work in the moment; it usually includes more than a little blame-shifting too. Yes, the words “I'm sorry” are included in this one; it's the construction of the apology you have to pay attention to.
A gaslight apology is an apology given that often appears sincere but the person is actually not taking any responsibility for what they have caused.
A true apology does not overdo. It stays focused on acknowledging the feelings of the hurt party without overshadowing them with your own pain or remorse. A true apology doesn't get caught up in who's to blame or who “started it.”Maybe you're only 14% to blame and maybe the other person provoked you.
Yellow roses: The rose is universally loved by all and is, depending on its color, representative of many qualities, including passion (red roses), purity (white roses) and friendship/forgiveness (yellow roses).
White tulips are a great way to say “I'm sorry” or “My condolences” and are a popular flower for funeral services.
