Lord Voldemort lived inside those pages, and Ginny was eventually possessed as the Dark wizard began to absorb her strength, control her into opening the Chamber of Secrets, and nearly killed her. The event, though undeniably traumatic, was a pivotal point in Ginny's life.
Through this dialogue, Tom grew stronger and ultimately poured a little of his soul into Ginny, manipulating her to kill Hagrid's roosters and open the Chamber of Secrets.

In Chamber of Secrets, Ginny has a crush on Harry, not Tom Riddle. Ginny sees the manifestation of the diary Horcrux Tom Riddle as a confidant. She probably feels he is a kinder, more sensitive older brother than her actual brothers.

In the Chamber itself, we see a large statue of a wizard, which Harry presumes is Salazar Slytherin. We also meet Tom Riddle, who is, as it turns out, the heir of Slytherin. Present only in spirit, he has all the same been controlling Ginny, and having her act as Slytherin's heir.

The Heir of Hufflepuff was a person foretold by the Seer Harmonthrep (Ajrand) to bring great glory and honor to the House of Hufflepuff, considered boring and lackluster by most.
Ginevra Molly Weasley (also known as Ginny) is the youngest child and only daughter of the Weasley family. She is Sorted into Slytherin during Harry and Jim Potter's second year.
Lucius disdained the Weasley family for its poverty and so-called blood traitor status; while the Malfoys prized their pure-blood heritage, the Weasleys accepted Muggles and Muggle-borns. He and Arthur apparently clashed multiple times over this at the Ministry of Magic, where they both worked.
