Most Army bases have excellent sport and fitness facilities, plus special interest clubs for activities such as rock climbing, golf, water skiing, scuba diving and sailing.
There are plenty of on-base entertainment resources available to service members and their families: gyms, movie theaters, bowling alleys, parks and more. In addition to facilities, the Military also works with Armed Forces Entertainment to bring exclusive entertainment shows.
In their spare time, soldiers wrote letters and diaries, drew sketches, read books and magazines, pursued hobbies, played cards or gambled. There were also opportunities for more-organised social activities.
A normal day for an active duty soldier consists of performing physical training, work within their military occupational specialty (MOS) and basic soldier skills. Physical training consists of cardiovascular exercises as well as strength training. MOS is the job a soldier performs on a daily basis.
While life in the Military is certainly different from civilian life in many respects, service members can expect to get off-duty time to relax with friends, pursue personal interests or hobbies — and discover new ones, too.
These requirements may also impact the scheduling of annual leave. Annual Leave: Active duty Soldiers earn 2.5 days of annual (chargeable) leave for each month of service, for a total of 30 days per year. Currently, Soldiers can bank up to 60 days of leave at the end of the fiscal year.
Do not expect or offer public displays of affection whenever a service member is in uniform. However, brief kisses and hugs are acceptable during deployments and homecomings. Eating, drinking, using a cellphone and smoking while walking is generally banned in uniform.
If you are active duty in any of the branches of the armed forces or the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) you earn 30 days of leave (paid vacation) every year. Military and NOAA members earn 2.5 days of leave for each month of service.
The military doesn't stop service members from using video chat. In fact, they encourage deployed soldiers to stay in contact with family and friends. There are phone centers and video chat stations set up in many locations. Members of special forces units most likely aren't on dating sites while deployed.
Regular leave is used on workdays and also any time the service member is leaving the vicinity of their duty station, as defined by their command, on a weekend or holiday.
Dating a military man can be the best experience of your life. These men are physically and emotionally strong, and they have a work ethic like no other. They've dedicated years of their lives to fight for our country, and they deserve an awesome woman like you by their side.
Getting That Morning Wake-Up Call
In military basic training, there's no such thing as sleeping in. You'll get up at 5 a.m. every single day. Waking up in the morning is an adjustment process that's the same for every single basic training class.
The Army Holiday Block Leave is 10 days
The 10-day break generally starts a week before Christmas and lasts until a week after Christmas.
Most Soldiers report sleeping 6 to 7 hours per night, regardless of duty status. However, nearly 1 in 3 report getting less than 6 hours of sleep on weeknights/duty nights. Soldiers also report getting more sleep on weekend/non-duty nights than on weeknights/duty nights.
There is no requirement for family or friends to pay for the service member's leave and there are no processing/administrative fees involved with requesting leave.
PDA. Because members are required to maintain professionalism in uniform, personal displays of affection are typically frowned upon except in certain situations. For instance, moderate kissing and hugging is acceptable when there's a homecoming or deployment.
For the military, condoms can be ordered through your supply chain. Order a box and leave them for your battle buddies by the Staff Duty Officer. Male condoms are made of natural skin, latex or polyurethane (plastic).
One such item is perhaps the smallest piece of armor that our soldiers wear to protect themselves: the condom. Condoms have been used for several centuries as both birth control and prophylactic.

Can girlfriends stay on an army base? No they cannot. Only family (spouse and children, not parents, siblings) can stay on the base if the military member has authorization for it and housing is available.
Trainees will use cell phones only under direct supervision of a staff member. 4. Trainees are authorized access to their personal cell phones during the fourth week and at the end of the seventh week of training to firm up travel arrangements with family and guests.
