A submissive wife is a women who, through the contract of marriage, agrees to submit to the will of her husband when their opinions differ. Many cultures and faiths encourage submissive wives, and claim it to be the natural order and/or the will of God.
Submission simply means to put the needs and wants of the other before your own. So when a woman submits to a man, it means to be willing to allow him to lead when there is a disagreement, provided that his leadership is reasonable and just. This is submission.
Submissive individuals tend to look for a dominant person to whom they can hand over responsibility. Consequently, they become emotionally dependent on those loved ones they see as having more authority. Emotional dependence prevents a person from having freedom and being autonomous.
Additionally, a submissive person will remain as still as possible. They won't look at the other person, especially when being stared at. They may even arrange themselves to be lower than the other person to show that they're not a physical threat. These gestures can go so far as to include kneeling or bowing.

A submissive personality is someone who willingly submits to the authority of someone else. They have a service-oriented mindset and find peace in taking instructions from those he or she looks up to. This can be at home, at workplace, with friends or in community relationships.

Often, submission is learning to consider your spouse's opinion as just as important as your own when making major decisions. It can look like listening as your husband shares the stress of his day, even though your day has been every bit as wearing.
Be a helper to your husband.
While all of us are called to be helpers to others, the Bible places a special emphasis on this responsibility for wives. Genesis tells us that God realized it wasn't good for man to be alone, and that He decided to make a “helper fit” (Genesis 2:18).
What does dominant mean in a relationship? Well, being dominant is a personality trait of having a decisive role in the relationship. The dominant partner in relationships holds control, and they sanction most of the ongoings of the relationship. A marriage or relationship is never 50/50.
The result of submissive behavior is that you get little of what you want whilst losing the respect of other people. You are also likely to fall into a spiral of failing self-esteem, internal anger and psychosomatic problems.
