Hyaluronic acid (HA): This naturally occurring body substance keeps your skin hydrated and full. You make less of this acid as you age, leading to fine lines and thinner, saggy skin. HA injections include Juvederm® and Restylane®. These dermal fillers plump up your jawline, smoothing wrinkles and fine lines.
Cosmetic fillers like Restylane and Sculptra are often used for jawline contouring. Restylane Lyft – a hyaluronic acid filler – is also frequently recommended for reshaping the jawline as it is thicker than other fillers under the Restylane umbrella.
Chin filler and jawline filler treatments are a quick and safe way to enhance your appearance by sculpting the lower face, to give the optimum chin shape for your face and a more defined jawline to balance your profile. You will notice an instant, remarkable difference before and after the jawline filler treatment.
How can cheek fillers help? Facial fillers are a top treatment choice for eliminating jowls as they can be used to rebuild the structure of the face whilst rebooting the skin's natural supply of hyaluronic acid and smoothing the jawline.
Jawline: The jawline is a tough spot to treat since it requires a doctor with extensive expertise in anatomy, face structure, and filler qualities to get positive outcomes. You'll need roughly eight to 10 syringes of filler.
With a few millilitres of dermal filler placed strategically, it can rejuvenate your entire appearance. Most people only need 1mL of dermal filler to enhance their whole face. The amount of filler injected will be different for every person, depending on the area they're trying to treat.
Injectable fillers enhance your facial features by adding volume to the chin, resolving double chin and addressing weak chin issues. Botox is the right treatment for you if your problem is facial wrinkles or the wrinkling or dimpling of the chin.
Does jaw filler change your smile? Some swelling around your mouth, chin, and jaw can occur after your dermal filler injections, briefly affecting your smile's apperance. However, this swelling typically resolves after one week, and your smile should return to normal.
Benefits of Jawline Filler
"Jawline filler can balance the face overall, minimize jowls, and sculpt the mandible and chin," explains Levine. "By adding structure to the lower face, it can help minimize a double chin by adding projection to the jawline and chin."
Dermal fillers provide natural results
With a dermal filler treatment for reducing the jawline, you can be sure of a natural, subtle result that suits the shape of your face. This can help to increase confidence and self esteem associated with your jawline.
Subtle results of jaw filler are immediately visible and in three to four days you'll notice large results! The results of jawline filler also improve over time and take about six to eight weeks to fully settle.
Most individuals should NOT have facial filler injections until they have at least reached their mid-twenties if not later. He acknowledges that an exception might apply if there is serious facial asymmetry, imbalance or deformity that might be helped with dermal fillers (or other compelling reasons for early age use).
Restylane® LYFT™ is our firmest dermal filler and is suited for lifting the cheeks, enhancing the jawline or chin, or reducing the appearance of wrinkles. If you have a thinner tissue coverage, Restylane® DEFYNE™ could be preferred as it is slightly softer and more flexible.
Restylane Refyne: is also formulated to move with facial expressions and is most commonly used for nasolabial folds and chin and jawline redefinition. Restylane Lyft: is often used for under-eye hollowing, as well as in cheek, temple, chin, and jawline enhancement.
Another way of assessing if the chin is too far back is to look at it in relation to the lower lip. If the chin is behind the lower lip then it may benefit from a subtle enhancement. If the chin is at or behind the labiomental crease, then it most definitely requires enhancement.
Filler is ideal for a person who has lost volume along the jawline or chin over the years. For a patient that has heaviness or laxity in their lower face, other treatments such as Kybella, Botox, or Sculptra should be considered.
While it is possible for fillers to migrate, this side effect is extremely rare and can be avoided by choosing a qualified injector. Though filler migration is very uncommon, its likelihood increases when fillers are performed by an inexperienced or underqualified injector.
The dermal fillers mentioned are not permanent, and breakdown in the skin over time. “Since the results are only temporary you can expect your pre-treatment wrinkles to re-appear after the effects of the fillers resolve,” explains Dr. Hanson.
After the Chin Augmentation procedure, you may have some minor swelling, tenderness, and bruising at the injection sites, as is common with all types of dermal filler. Normally, these issues are resolve within a few days, but in some people, they may take longer.
Chin and jawline filler
You've guessed it - it depends on the individual, but you'll likely want between 1ml and 3ml of filler to shape and define.
Most patients want to keep the appearance very subtle and natural, whilst some younger patients want a more volumous look. We generally use half a ml for a very subtle change, 1ml for a average fullness that will never look overdone. Younger patients may want more than 1ml in total.
Ensure you don't put too much volume in the chin in one go, ie no more than 2ml per session in the chin alone, ideally.
