After
It transpires that, when magic was restored, many aspects of the supernatural were "reset", resulting in the resurrection of both Fred and Illyria, sharing the same body. Fred and Illyria thereafter remain with Angel for the remainder of Season 10 and throughout Angel Season 11.
But in one of the many twists and turns in the series, Fred succumbs. But Joss Whedon, the series creator and sometimes writer, decided to kill off Fred so that Acker would be able to “play somebody new, somebody who's regal and scary and different than anything she's gotten to do on the show.
They broke up in "Calvary" (4x12).
Background. Illyria is one of the legendary Old Ones, original pure demons from the Primordium Age who ruled territory including modern-day California. She ruled from her citadel, Vahla ha'nesh, which corresponds to modern-day Los Angeles. Illyria was eventually defeated and murdered.
After Angel Investigations took over Wolfram & Hart in 2003, Fred met her end when one of her coworkers, Knox, brought in an ancient sarcophagus which infected her with the essence of the Old One Illyria, and, despite her friends' best efforts, Fred perished and her body was taken over by Illyria itself.
Viola is the central character in Shakespeare's play, Twelfth Night. She is washed up on a beach in Illyria after losing her twin brother in a shipwreck. She disguises herself as a boy, gives herself the name Cesario and finds employment with Duke Orsino, the wealthy young ruler of Illyria.
At the end of the issue, Gunn is revealed to be a vampire, having been turned either during or after Team Angel's battle with the Senior Partners' army at the end of "Not Fade Away", who feeds on the women and turns the "rescued" men into vampires as part of "Team Gunn".
Although Gunn and Fred were furious that Wesley hadn't informed them of what had happened and allowed Connor to remain with them, Angel was grateful to Wesley for the rescue. Although offered forgiveness, Wesley refused to return.
Cordelia fell into a coma giving birth to Jasmine, and a season later she died offscreen in a hospital bed, the events leading up to her death erased from history. Her last appearance on the show was when she used her dying wish to guide Angel back onto the path toward his destiny.
As The Beast causes fire to rain from the sky in an apparent apocalypse, Cordelia sleeps with Connor to give him some happiness before the end.
"A Hole in the World" is episode 15 of season 5 in the television show Angel. Written and directed by series creator Joss Whedon, it was originally broadcast on February 25, 2004 on the WB television network. In this episode, Fred is infected by the spirit of Illyria, an ancient demon who existed before recorded time.
She appears as a regular in the first three seasons before exiting the show to join the spin-off Angel after graduating from Sunnydale High. Cordy actually ends up dating Xander Harris despite how much they've always hated each other.
Serena Has Moments of Redemption
However, after, her mental health declined, and she began to spin the story by leading a national campaign to bring back her "stolen" child. In season 4, Serena turned her back on Fred during their trial to defend herself, claiming she was just as oppressed as June.
Ever since June became the Waterford's handmaid in season one, Fred's behaviour was alarming to say the least with his early revelation the couple's last handmaid had committed suicide. Moreover, he appeared to have an obsession with June, regularly breaking the rules and sending her gifts.
Fittingly enough, that ceremony was (in the book, at least) created by Commander Waterford — he is being killed by the very thing he built. As for the Handmaids, they help June because of who she is and what she represents to them — a leader, a hero, a beacon of hope.
Angel fires his three colleagues after escalating disagreements about his growing moral corruption. Instead of disbanding while Angel deals with his private issues, Gunn, Cordelia, and Wesley continue running Angel Investigations without him in a rented office.
1. Spike. We know that Team Angel fans are probably screaming at their computers right now, but hear us out. There are plenty of reasons Spike was the most powerful vampire in the Buffyverse.
Angelus terrorizes Willow and the Gang at school, emotionally tormenting Buffy. Later, as they discuss Angel's transformation in the library, Buffy realises that having sex with Angel is what caused him to turn evil.
Angel kills the demon. Its blood, eventually found to be the Blood of Eternity, merges with his own, and he becomes human. Realizing what this means for their relationship, Angel spends the night with Buffy.
Angel killed him and finally recognized Buffy afterward, and regained his sanity. Though the Scooby gang do not trust him after he went bad, Angel manage to win back some good faith and acceptance in the gang after he saves Willow from being killed by the corrupt former Watcher Gwendolyn Post.
In the melee, the AI team escapes. Sitting in Gunn's truck, Fred and Gunn make up. Fred asks for whom Gunn traded his soul. Gunn explains that he traded his soul for the truck, which helped him survive and save lives.
After a series of events, Olivia and Sebastian are married, Viola reveals her true identity to Orsino, and he proposes to her.
