The hyperbass flute is the largest and lowest instrument in the flute family.
The main flute types are the bass flute, the alto flute, the ordinary C flute, and the piccolo. The C flute (also known as the Western concert flute) is the most popular among the four.
Flutes don't come in different 'sizes' as such, but you can get curved headjoints for a small beginner. This brings the keys of the flute closer to the body, reducing the stretch.
Bass Flute
This mysterious sounding member of the flute family is larger again, being an inch larger in diameter than the concert flute, and measuring in at 52 inches in length. They're pitched in the key of C, and sound an octave lower than written.

Gemshorn
Historically made from the horn of a chamois, goat, or other suitable animal, the gemshorn was a kind of flute used in the 15th century.

Less commonly seen flutes include the treble flute in G, pitched one octave higher than the alto flute; soprano flute, between the treble and concert; and tenor flute or flûte d'amour in B♭, A or A♭ pitched between the concert and alto.
How about that for some seriously low-end flute? This aptly named flautist foghorn is the largest member of the flute family, containing over 15 metres in piping. It's a relativeley new instrument and, according to early reports, the tone is still under refinement as it's a bit growly.
Unlike the earliest flutes that were made from wooden materials, modern concert flutes are all-metal-finished flutes. The only exception is the piccolo, which is made from a special wood material.
Made out of wood, baroque flutes are much simpler than their modern concert flute counterparts and have a much more gentle sound. They also have a smaller embouchure hole making the tone a lot more sweet and quieter.
An alto flute is a fourth lower
Actually it's kind of like the only difference is that the alto flute is lower. More specifically when you play notes on the alto flute, it sounds a fourth lower so the interval of a fourth lower than written, compared to what this would sound.
The dizi (Chinese: 笛子; pinyin: dízi, pronounced [tǐt͡si]), is a Chinese transverse flute. It is also sometimes known as the di (笛) or hengdi (橫笛), and has varieties including the qudi (曲笛) andbangdi (梆笛).
Bombarde. The Bombard is a long flute-like instrument that is related to the oboe. It is played in the same way as a tin whistle, by blowing into the mouthpiece and covering the correct tone holes for the desired note.
The ney consists of a piece of hollow cane or giant reed with five or six finger holes and one thumb hole. Modern neys may instead be made of metal or plastic tubing. The pitch of the ney varies depending on the region and the finger arrangement.
The oldest musical instrument in the world, a 60,000-year-old Neanderthal flute is a treasure of global significance. It was discovered in Divje babe cave near Cerkno and has been declared by experts to have been made by Neanderthals. It is made from the left thighbone of a young cave bear and has four pierced holes.
The Traditional North Indian flute called the Bansuri has 6 holes while the traditional South indian flute called the Pulil/Veenu had 7 holes.
A bansuri is traditionally made from a single hollow shaft of bamboo with six or seven finger holes. Some modern designs come in ivory, fiberglass and various metals. The six hole instrument covers two and a half octaves of music.
The xiao (simplified Chinese: 箫; traditional Chinese: 簫; pinyin: xiāo; Wade–Giles: hsiao, pronounced [ɕi̯ɑ́ʊ̯]) is a Chinese vertical end-blown flute. It is generally made of bamboo.
Traditionally, a single hollow shaft of bamboo is used to make a bansuri. And the length of this flute is around 30cm to 75cm long. This instrument has six or seven finger-tone holes. The bansuri can produce up to two and a half octaves of musical tone.
