Corgi. The Queen's corgis kept the late monarch in good canine company for decades. She was given her first corgi Susan when she was just 18, and even took the beloved pet on her honeymoon with Prince Philip.
The queen was, of course, most famously known for her love of dogs and owned more than 30 corgis and dorgis — Dachshund and Welsh corgi hybrids — over her lifetime, according to the official royal website.
Royal life
For her eighteenth birthday in 1944, the King gave Princess Elizabeth a two-month-old Pembroke Corgi puppy with the registered name Hickathrift Pippa; she was called Sue, which became Susan.
The Queen's passion for corgis dated back to her childhood, when she fell in love with her father King George VI's dog, Dookie. In 1944, on her 18th birthday, she was given a Pembroke Welsh corgi puppy named Susan. Such was her attachment to Susan, she reportedly took her on her honeymoon in 1947.
In 2015, Elizabeth decided she would stop bringing new dogs under her care out of fear of leaving any puppies behind, Monty Roberts, a royal horse whisperer told Vanity Fair. But after her husband Prince Philip's death in 2021, Elizabeth had a change of heart.

For the queen's 95th birthday a few months later, Andrew and his daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, gave Elizabeth another new corgi puppy, whom she named Sandy. Both of her pups were "a constant source of joy for the Queen," her dresser Angela Kelly told PA.

"For a first course she loved the Gleneagles pâté, which is smoked salmon, trout and mackerel. She loved using ingredients off the estate and so if we had salmon from Balmoral from the River Dee, she'd have that, it was one of her favourites.

King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla instead own a pair of rescue dogs identified as Jack Russell terriers: Beth and Bluebell. According to the British press, they'll be the first rescue dogs to live in the palace.
Throughout her long reign Queen Victoria favoured a number of different breeds including dachshunds, collies and pugs. King Edward VII was particularly fond of terriers, with several including Jack and Caesar becoming known to the public as favourites of the King.
After their star turn during the late monarch's committal service in Windsor, the world was gripped with curiosity about who would be next to take care of them, and People confirmed that the queen's son Prince Andrew and his ex-wife and current housemate Sarah Ferguson would be the corgis' new owners.

The British queen owned corgis since she was a child. The first corgi named Dookie was brought to the castle in 1933 by her father, King George VI. Elizabeth later received her own dog Susan as a present when she turned 18.
Prince Charles is a longtime owner of Jack Russell terriers, loving the breed for many years. As well as having them when he was growing up, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall have two adorable rescue Jack Russell Terriers named Bluebell and Beth.
She also leaves behind her beloved four-legged friends. As she famously said, "My corgis are family." The Queen had four dogs at the time of her death: two Pembroke Welsh Corgis named Sandy and Muick, a Dorgi (Corgi-Dachshund mix), and a Cocker Spaniel named Lissy. Lissy joined the family in January 2022.
The Queen is believed to own more than 100 horses.

The late monarch will no doubt have left a will, but when will its contents become public? It is unlikely that the Queen's final will and testament will ever become public knowledge, with wills of members of the royal family being sealed.
