Because diamonds reflect white light, colorless diamonds produce the best sparkle and fire. In fact, the more color a diamond has, the less likely it is to reflect white light. And as a result, will produce less sparkle. A D-color diamond is the highest quality, and will offer the greatest sparkle.

Round Brilliant Cut

For that reason, it is recommended that you not attempt to clean your diamond by boiling it. Boiling is no more effective than other methods of cleaning and carries a greater risk of damage to the stone and to the jewelry's metal parts.
DON'T Wear Your Ring in Salt Water
Rose gold is especially sensitive to salt water as it will corrode much faster than traditional yellow or white gold. Salt water can also damage the overall appearance of your diamond by dulling the stones and causing them to become less shiny.
Diamond fluorescence that also exists within the D through I color grades will most often appear hazy. Similarly, D through G color grade diamonds with medium fluorescence also appears milky. However, a blue fluorescence makes the diamond seem transparent.
The two reasons why some diamonds appear darker in sunlight is due to High Light Performance. The better the cut the darker a diamond will appear under direct sunlight. If you view the diamond outdoors then it is advised to shade the direct sunlight with your body, or better still, view it under a broad leaf tree.
They do NOT dull or stop sparkling, they just get dirty. Diamonds are magnets for all kinds of materials which will stick to them and make them lose their sparkle. Finger prints are a prime example. The oils on your fingers can stick to the diamond and make it lose some of its brilliance.
