Drinking fluids following oral surgery will also speed up the healing process and help to prevent conditions like dry socket. However, when drinking liquids, do so by sipping on a cup or bottle. Do not use a straw, as the suction could dislodge any dressings on the wound.
Alcohol should be avoided for 24 hours as it may increase bleeding. Stitches dissolve in seven to 10 days. If still present after this time then rub the area gently with toothpaste.

Limit unhealthy foods, such as those that are high in fat, sugar, and salt. Examples include doughnuts, cookies, fried foods, candy, and regular soda. These kinds of foods are low in nutrients that are important for healing.
It is good to brush your teeth following surgery.
Just don't brush the surgical sites for the first week.
We may provide a small syringe to help you gently rinse this area. On the day following surgery, you may brush your teeth. Do not be intimidated by the presence of the stitches, but take care to avoid them. After two to three days, brush over the stitches lightly.
The healing process will take about two weeks, and during that time you should avoid smiling or laughing unnaturally, as this can disturb the stitches and make the healing process take longer.
Wound healing

When can I have a bath or shower after surgery? After 48 hours, surgical wounds can get wet without increasing the risk of infection. After this time, you can get your stitches wet briefly with a light spray (such as in the shower), but they should not be soaked (for example, in the bath).
Citrus fruits like oranges, lemons, papaya, and kiwis contain a good amount of Vitamin C. Vitamin C is responsible for healthy skin and immune systems. Therefore, one must have vitamin C rich foods or supplements after surgery or any wound on your body.
Just remove the suture from your mouth and discard it. Most stitches will dissolve over 4 to 5 days but if the removal of sutures is required no anaesthesia or needles are needed. It takes only a minute or so, and there is no discomfort associated with this procedure.
When do the stitches come out? Most sutures will dissolve or fall out on their own within 2–7 days following surgery. Some types of sutures may take 2 weeks or more to dissolve. Your surgeon or nurse will tell you which type of suture was used during your particular procedure.
Keep the head elevated
You will have less of a risk of swelling in the area, plus you will not be likely to experience new bleeding if you keep your head elevated. You can add a few pillows on your bed to keep your head elevated while you sleep.
They may feel slightly odd or uncomfortable, but should not be painful. Over time, the stitches will either dissolve into your surgery site or fall out. Both are completely normal. Avoid pulling at the stitches, as this can disturb the healing process and cause you pain.

Your surgeon may only use dissolvable sutures or combine them with permanent sutures depending on the procedure. The dissolvable sutures tend to be clear or white in color. Although they are placed with precision and care, the body may view the sutures as foreign substances and reject them.
Milk for Mending Wounds

Healing Food Containing Amino Acids
Arginine is an amino acid that helps increase blood flow and oxygen to the wound. This results in increased collagen formation and reduced inflammation. Foods high in arginine include pumpkin seeds, milk, yogurt, and cheese.
Dairy products can be an excellent source of healing after surgery as they contain a lot of protein. But many people experience constipation after consuming dairy products after surgery. There are also cases which show dairy product enhances the secretion inside the lungs. This secretion may result in chronic cough.
Additionally, dairy products are harder for your body to digest as they contain casein protein, which slows down digestion significantly and increases inflammation throughout the body. This can delay the healing process and cause more discomfort.
Bread and crackers
Bread is typically tough to chew after wisdom tooth removal and you are generally recommended to avoid any foods that could get stuck to your surgery site. Crackers and breads are notorious for getting stuck on teeth and stuck in the mouth and that can only cause trouble post oral surgery.
