In the film, Bellatrix casts a blue spell at Ginny Weasley instead of a Killing Curse, who deflects it using a Shield Charm. In the book she just avoids it.
I've always suspected Molly's lethal spell was a particularly well-placed and powerful stunner that stops Bellatrix's heart, which is consistent with the description of her death: Molly's curse soared beneath Bellatrix's outstretched arm and hit her squarely in the chest, directly over her heart.
She didn't block it. She ducked, she dodged it, she moved her head or body to avoid it. No one has blocked the curse with a spell to do that.
She most definitely used Expulsa. It's said that it was a powerful Stupefying spell, but that would just put the opponent to sleep for a longer time than a Stupefying spell from a 1st year. I don't know why people think it was Avada Kedavra or why they are saying that it's not a known spell.
Voldemort intentionally made six Horcruxes, but when he used Avada Kedavra on Harry, he unintentionally created a seventh Horcrux. Instead of dying, Lily's love for Harry created a counter 'curse' known as Sacrificial Protection and saved Harry.
Cruciatus Curse ('Crucio')
Repeated use of the Cruciatus Curse is torture and Bellatrix Lestrange subjected the Longbottoms to such extremes of pain that it sent them insane.
Firestorm. Firestorm was a spell that created a large ring of fire around the caster's wand. This spell is one of the last and most powerful spells that Albus Dumbledore cast using the elder wand before his death.
The Patronus Charm is perhaps the most notorious difficult-to-cast spell in the wizarding world, and it's certainly the first one to come to mind for most fans. The Patronus Charm requires the caster to hold on to a moment of pure happiness—as in, they must think of their happiest memory.
Why Harry Didn't Cast Avada Kedavra. Despite Harry Potter using Unforgivable Curses, one of the Unforgivable Curses Harry Potter never used the Killing Curse for several reasons. Avada Kedavra was Lord Voldemort's signature spell.
But when Ron and Hermione are about to die by Nagini, Ron casts the killing curse as a last resort and it simply rebounds off Nagini as it was nothing. Why?
Bellatrix Lestrange (née Black) is a fictional character in the Harry Potter book series written by J. K. Rowling. She evolved from an unnamed periphery character in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire into a major antagonist in subsequent novels.
If Bellatrix managed to muster affection for anyone other than Voldemort, it was her younger sister (even at the height of the Second Wizarding War, Bellatrix and Narcissa called each other Cissy and Bella, no doubt childhood nicknames they'd given each other).
Malfoy spots Harry and casts a Cruciatus curse; Harry, defending himself, using the Half-Blood Prince's Sectumsempra spell without knowing its effects. To his horror, it gashes Draco's face and chest, spilling his blood everywhere.
The darkest of the Dark Arts, Harry Potter unforgivable curses are the Cruciatus Curse, the Imperius Curse, and the Killing Curse. Although the curses are highly illegal, Harry using Unforgivable Curses happened, but he uses them once he was thrust into the Second Wizarding War.
Avada Kedavra
It's used to kill people, it's an Unforgivable Curse, and it was Voldemort's favourite, so it's going last.
Expelliarmus: Harry Potter's Signature Spell | Wizarding World.
The Disarming Charm became Harry Potter's signature spell, and it notably caused the death of Lord Voldemort during the Battle of Hogwarts by rebounding his Killing Curse because the Elder Wand recognised Harry as its master through the spell connection, and thus strengthened the Disarming Charm to the point that ...
During his final confrontation with Voldemort, Harry knew that he (Harry) was the Elder Wand's true master. He again cast Expelliarmus, ejecting the wand from Voldemort's hand into his own as the Killing Curse rebounded off his body, fatally striking Voldemort.
In order to conjure the avada kedavra curse, you have to want to kill your victim. We all know that Voldemort could easily kill a child without an ounce of remorse... but not Snape. Snape didn't want to kill Dumbledore, and this was why the spell was blue instead of the usual green.
Speak to Sebastian in the Undercroft after this and he'll teach you any Unforgivable Curses you have missed up to that point, including Avada Kedavra. It's worth learning the curse as doing so should have no negative outcome on the game's story.
The spell that Hermione uses most is either Alohamora or Reparo.
The three curses that are classified as Unforgivable are the Imperius Curse, the Cruciatus Curse, and the Killing Curse. Mad-Eye Moody introduces Harry and his class to these curses in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Expec - expecto patronum,' said Hermione. Nothing happened. 'It's the only spell she ever has trouble with,' Harry told a bemused Mrs Cattermole.
