Here the perfume that the prophet Muhammad is referring to is the scent of aloes or a combination of aloes and camphor (Book 27 no. 5601) (Sahih Muslim).
A type of aloe wood that gives perhaps the best smell is known in Arabia as the Oud, and Ayesha reports: “The Oud was the best type of perfume the Prophet loved.” (Related by Abu Al-Shaykh and Ibn Saad.) People realized that the Prophet loved a good smell.

The Favorite Scents – Ambergris and Musk
A good smell was a good habit in the life of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He disliked going outside without wearing some of perfume. And if perfume was gifted to him, he would never refuse it.
In Islam, musk is considered to be the most fragrant of the scents. It was widely used by the Islamic prophet Muhammad and his companions. Alexander the Great, whom Islamic tradition identifies as the Qur'anic figure Dhu al-Qarnayn, is also said to have transpired the odour of musk.
He (pbuh) used the 'Siwaak' or tooth stick to clean his teeth, a twig taken from the 'araak' tree found in and around Makkah. He (pbuh) loved to use it and highly encouraged us to do the same. Ibn Mas'ood said: “I used to gather siwaak sticks from the araak tree for the Messenger of Allaah (pbuh).” (Ahmad–hasan).

The Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) used to give lot of importance to perfumes and made perfume as one of the most favorite things in life. He used to spend on perfumes more than his spending on food. He used to say that there is no Israaf ( sinful over spending) in spending on perfume.
Lady Ayesha confirms this in the following Hadith: “God's messenger used to wash his head with Sidr and then he would apply the Kadhi.” (Related by Abu Al-Shaykh.) The Sidr is a tree that gives small yellow fruit with slightly sour taste, and apparently its leaves or wood were used to provide some cleaning material.
Nabeez/Nabidh - An energising Sehri drink for Ramadan - Nabeez is a Prophetic drink that is cleansing, alkalising and has many other benefits. It was one of the favourite drinks of the beloved Prophet Muhammad صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ (Peace be Upon Him).
The Prophet Muhammad did not like meat from lizard. Moreover he did not like things preserved in lizard's skin. He asked about the origin of butter in the bread which was served to him and when he learnt that the butter was preserved in lizard's skin, he preferred not to eat this bread (Ibn Māja, At'ima, 47).

The Saudi Press Agency ran a series of photos showing the process of how Bukhoor is used to scent the Holy Kabaa and the Majid al-Haram. It also said the Black Stone or al-Hajre Aswad, is scented with oudh five times a day using more than five kilos of the fragrance.
