"Is it the Chosen One?" Maul asked. "He is," Kenobi replied. Maul looked up, the life fading from his eyes, and uttered his last words. "He will avenge us."
The part of interest here is Maul's last words: “he will avenge us.” After spending so much of his life hating Kenobi and seeking his demise, many fans may be confused by what seems like a last second change of heart, but as mentioned previously, at this point, Maul is only seeking Kenobi because he must.
“Is it the chosen one?” Obi-Wan responds, “He is.” And Maul's last words are true to his lowly character, “He will avenge us.”
“Fear. Fear attracts the fearful, the strong, the weak, the innocent, the corrupt. Fear! Fear is my ally!”
At the end of their fated duel on Tatooine, a dying Maul asks Obi-Wan Kenobi if the person he protects – Luke – is the Chosen One.
Though many remember him as Darth Maul, that name essentially died when he was presumed dead after Episode I. Maul is not part of the Sith and therefore does not carry that part of the name.
Fandom. Question: Did Maul know Sidious was Palpatine? In legends he did. In the darth plagueis novel I'm pretty sure there's a part where maul was reflecting on his master's political machinations and how he is publicly known as palpatine.
Maul was a Force-sensitive Dathomirian Zabrak male who established himself as a crime lord during the reign of the Galactic Empire. He was once known as Darth Maul when he was the apprentice of Darth Sidious, and therefore, a Dark Lord of the Sith.
In the now-abandoned Legends continuity, his birth name appeared to be Maul, with the title of "Darth" simply added to it when he was taken on as an apprentice by Darth Sidious.
The notable exception to this, however, is Darth Maul, whose real name has never been revealed, and most likely never will. Although Maul was largely wasted in The Phantom Menace and seemingly killed off unceremoniously at its climax, he was later revealed to have survived being bisected and falling down a vast shaft.
Darth Maul and Obi-Wan's long-standing rivalry started in Episode 1 and lasted all the way until Star Wars: Rebels. Throughout his lifetime, Maul seemed to hate Kenobi! Every time Maul says Kenobi.
The desolation of Maul
He can feel Obi-Wan Kenobi's presence in his mind's eye, but searching an entire planet for a man who doesn't want to be found has proven to be far more difficult than Maul expected. In exasperation and rage, Maul cries out Kenobi's name.
He renounces his Sith title of "Darth", rebuilds his criminal organization and manipulates Ezra Bridger into helping him find Obi-Wan on Tatooine, where the two old rivals have a final confrontation that ends in Maul's death.
Darth Maul was definitely confident in Episode I. Which is why he was calm and quiet. Yet he was defeated by Obi Wan. Confidence tends to give a person quiet and calmness in battle.
In canon, Maul was killed by Obi-Wan Kenobi on Tatooine during the year 2 BBY. If we use the Legends year of birth, then Maul would have been 52 years old when he died.
Maul is a deadly, evil, dark, and mysterious figure in the Star Wars franchise. In his first appearance, he was a formidable foe, having managed to kill Qui-Gon Jinn and temporarily have a stand over Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Qi'ra is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, first appearing in the 2018 film Solo: A Star Wars Story and portrayed by English actress Emilia Clarke.
Darth Maul had naturally red skin with black tattoos according to wookiepedia. What is interesting is that his brother Savage Opress has naturally yellow and brown skin (perhaps skin color is not a family trait for Dathomirian males?).
Count Dooku of Serenno, also known by his Sith name Darth Tyranus, or simply as Dooku, is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, created by George Lucas.
If Darth Maul killed Anakin on Tatooine then Palpatine's chances at controlling tremendous power to help him achieve his insidious plans would be completely dashed! Anakin would be dead and further events in the SWU would be sent into utter turmoil as we know it!
Thought dead, Darth Maul survived his injuries by focusing on his hatred of Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Jedi who cut him in half. His shattered body was dumped amid the refuse of the junk planet Lotho Minor, where the once deadly warrior fell into madness, staying alive on a diet of vermin.
Bottom line, Dooku never considered himself a Sith. And he wasn't; he was a man looking to change the galaxy in a way the Jedi were unwilling to try. And that is why he joined the Sith and became Darth Sidious' apprentice, Darth Tyrannus. When Dooku became Sidious's apprentice, he was already an elderly man.
Dooku defeated Obi-Wan, but Anakin in turn disarmed him, severing his hands and holding his sabers at the count's neck. To Dooku's shock, his secret master then told Anakin to kill him. Sidious had indeed betrayed Dooku, and a flick of Skywalker's wrists ended the count's life.
