Unsurprisingly, Afghanistan has been named the world's most stressed country. The country saw the Taliban take control in August 2021 as foreign forces pulled out of the country. Afghanistan is closely followed by Lebanon and then Turkey, Ecuador and Jordan.
Based on these factors, the five most stressful cities for workers are Houston, Texas; Arlington, Texas; Dallas, Texas; Memphis, Tennessee; and Las Vegas, Nevada.
According to The Least and Most Stressful Cities Index 2021, Reykjavik, Iceland has earned the top spot as the least stressful city around the world, followed by Bern, Switzerland, and Helsinki, Finland.
These cities are the least stressed in the world, based on factors including pollution levels, LGBTQ+ safety, cleanliness and cost of living. Three of the top-10 least stressed cities in the world are in Australia, with Brisbane ranking highest.
A shocking 91% of the respondents of our survey were stressed at one point or the other in their life. Out of which, we found that the most stressed were the respondents in their late twenties and thirties. There was an increase in the stress levels until the age of 40, after which it starts reducing.

What age is stress most common? According to the American Psychological Association (APA), people in the 18-33 age group suffer the highest levels of stress in the U.S.
