Among these is Laird's study of introversion,1 carried on in connection with the standardization of the Colgate Mental Hygiene Test. According to this study, the tendency toward introversion is so much more marked in women than in men that different percentile scales are necessary for the two sexes.
Making up 47% of the female population, Introverted personality types are slightly less common than with men, but every bit as varied.
Myers, McCaulley, Quenk, & Hammer (1998) found that within this sample 45.9% of males and 52.5% of women were extroverted and 54.1% of men and 47.5% of women were introverted.

They pay close attention to details and are extremely prudent. Introverts are also genuinely concerned about others, which shows their empathic natures.
