The blue skinned-god represents the great ocean of consciousness – Lord Vishnu resides on the blue cosmic ocean and rests on the five-headed serpent, Sheshnag. He is believed to be the all-pervading, omniscient, omnipresent god, his blue hue signifying that he is infinite and immeasurable like the deep blue.
Although depicted in many forms throughout South Asia (and now much of the world), Kali is most often characterized as black or blue, partially or completely naked, with a long lolling tongue, multiple arms, a skirt or girdle of human arms, a necklace of decapitated heads, and a decapitated head in one of her hands.
Iconography and forms. The goddess has two depictions: the popular four-armed form and the ten-armed Mahakali avatar. In both, she is described as being black in colour, though she is often seen as blue in popular Indian art.

Goddess Parvathi, concerned about her husband Lord Shiva's welfare, grabbed his neck to prevent the poison from entering his body. The poison stayed in Shiva's neck, turning it blue in colour.

While fighting the snake, Krishna was exposed to the snake's venom that made his skin blue in colour. However, many also believe that within Krishna there lay a cosmic strength that is invisible to mortal eyes. Hence, his body appears blue in colour.
