Several factors, including age, genetics, and gender, can influence how fast hair grows: For example, studies show that male hair tends to grow faster than female hair, while natural, textured hair tends to grow slower than other hair types.
The hair on our arms, legs, armpits, and pubic areas grow around 30-45 days in comparison to 2-6 years for the hair on our heads. So, while hair on our bodies outside of our heads go through the same cycle, their lengths are vastly different and the reason they at a relatively shorter length.
How fast does hair grow? It's hard to say exactly how fast your hair grows — everyone is different! — but on average, hair grows about half an inch over the course of a month. That being said, it's not unusual for hair to grow as little as a centimeter or as much as an inch in a month.

"From a health standpoint, removing pubic hair can lead to irritation of the hair follicle, and open wounds or nicks, which may increase the risk for sexually transmitted infection (STI) transmission," said Maureen Whelihan, MD, an OB-GYN at the Elite GYN Care of the Palm Beaches in Florida.
