Superman loved Lois. In most stories, Clark Kent and Lois Lane are an iconic unstoppable journalist duo, with a super-child and all! Sure, Superman has loved Lana Lang and had his flew flings now and again. But he always returns to Lois Lane.
In 85 years of action and adventure, there's only ever truly been one woman for Superman. It's the greatest love story that comics have ever told: Clark Kent loves Lois, Lois loves Superman, and somewhere along the way, she falls for Clark as well.
One of the most emotional beats of many Superman stories has always been how Clark Kent didn't end up with high-school sweetheart Lana Lang. Smallville dove deep into this, painting a melodramatic story of love because, despite Lana eventually finding out Clark's secret, they both realized Lois was his soulmate.
Clark's dishonesty over the secrets he is hiding causes their relationship to end. Lana then grows closer to Lex Luthor, whom she marries and divorces in the sixth season. Eventually Lana learns the truth about Clark and they get back together.

After learning of his abilities, Lana was the first person Clark confided in before he left Smallville to wander the world. Lana never got over her feelings for Clark, but made peace with the fact that they would never be a couple.
Years later, the post-Crisis Lana eventually married Pete Ross. The two settled into a quiet life in Smallville, where they had a son they named after their mutual friend, Clark. They picked this name for their son after Lana asked Clark to save his life when a car accident caused him to be born eight weeks premature.
Nevertheless, their relationship came to a very definite end when she absorbed a large amount of kryptonite from a bomb that Lex Luthor had set up on the roof of the Daily Planet to exact revenge on both Clark and Lana. From that point on, Clark couldn't be near Lana without doubling over in pain.
When Superman died, Lana Lang and Lois Lane both absorbed energy released from his body and the two women developed superhuman powers. Lana gained the power to convert solar radiation into various forms of electromagnetic energy, while Lois developed powers similar to Superman's. Both Lana and Lois became Superwoman.
He loves Lois Lane because she is his intellectual equal. It is also because she loves and accepts both Clark Kent and Superman. Is Lois Lane dumb if in the comic books she has seen Superman after Clark disappears and fails to connect the dots that Clark Kent is Superman?
1 Lois: Loves & Admires Him for Who He Is
Contemporary comics have even picked up on this as they've made Clark less clumsy and awkward, making him more like Kal – while still remaining unassuming by wearing the glasses. So, Lois does love Kal for who he truly is whereas Diana questions Kal's secret identity.
In the last issue of the same volume, Diana and Steve Trevor profess their love for one another and are married. As Wonder Woman embarked on the modern age, her history and backstory were further revamped.
Mary Jane Watson: Initially set up by Aunt May as a blind date, Mary Jane was formerly depicted as Gwen Stacy's competition by creators. She eventually became Peter's main love interest.
Lana and Clark start a relationship. After Clark lost his powers for saving the ones he loved, he decided that he and Lana could have a real and honest relationship and finally start dating. During this time, Lana finally felt that Clark was totally open with her and the two lost their virginity to each other.
After being attacked by a meteor-freak, Lana was taken to the hospital again. There, the doctor revealed to her that she was never pregnant and accused her of faking her pregnancy to marry a billionaire.
That wasn't, however, the case for Clark Kent, who fell for Lana long before meeting his future wife. So, when creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar went about telling the story of Clark's (Tom Welling) younger days in "Smallville," it was Lana and not Lois who initially stole his heart.
After Lana collapsed in pain and passed out, Lex was forced to tell her that she had suffered complications and miscarried the baby. Lana was heartbroken by this revelation and began to cry bitterly. Lana discovers that she was never pregnant.
Lana gives birth to a daughter named Abbiejean Kane-Archer. In a heart-to-heart conversation, Lana tells him she still loves him and reveals that she had stolen the sperm he stored during his cancer scare and used it to become pregnant, making Archer the father of her daughter (Arrival/Departure).
Lana Lang is the childhood friend of Superman, who developed superhuman powers after absorbing radioactive energy. She made the decision to put her newfound abilities to use, becoming the hero Superwoman.
She generally teams up with friends Clark and Pete Ross in researching and stopping meteor-infected people from harming other citizens. In the first five seasons, Chloe harbors an unrequited love for Clark, but eventually accepts her place as his platonic friend and nothing more.
Nevertheless, Clark eventually confessed his secret to Lana and asked her to marry him. Although she was shocked and reserved at responding to his proposal at first, Lana accepted Clark for who he was and agreed to marry him.
Throughout seasons four, five, six and seven, Lois's relationship with Clark Kent is depicted more as a brother/sister relationship, with the two characters often butting heads. By season eight, Lois begins to realize that she is falling in love with Clark, and by season nine the two become an official couple.
