Known Techniques
Sun Breathing was initially created with 12 techniques all connected to one another by Yoriichi Tsugikuni. Later upon meeting Muzan Kibutsuji, Yoriichi perfected his swordsmanship form, creating a new unnamed thirteenth form.
Demon Slayer's season 3's latest episode has left fans on edge with Tanjiro's discovery of Yoriichi Tsugikuni's Type Zero sword.
13th form Tanjiro simply blitzes Akaza. In that form, he's relative to WH Muzan in speed who is faster than all the UMs.
Some of the characters who have faced Yoriichi and survived
This happened due to a treatment that had gone wrong. While he was being treated, Muzan killed the doctor because he was not able to observe any results.
The episode begins with Tanjiro encountering the ghost of Yoriichi Tsugikuni, the creator of the Sun Breathing technique. Through a series of flashbacks, we learn about Yoriichi's tragic past and how he met the Kamado family.
As the young slayer aids in picking off more and more of the Twelve Kizuki, Muzan finds just as many reasons to be scared of Tanjiro Kamado. Tanjiro also ends up being the one to land the final blow on Muzan's original body, further proving why Muzan is scared of Tanjiro throughout the series.
Seventh Form: Sunflower Thrust Form
However, the Sunflower Thrust form of Sun Breathing in the Demon Slayer manga/ anime is different. Instead of slashing, this technique urges the user to stab their opponent with a powerful thrust focused only on the tip of the sword's blade.
On the other hand, Sun Breathing can, presently, only be performed by Tanjiro Kamado. Though its techniques can be taught to others provided they have the guidance of a Kamado, there are no other known users who are currently alive.
This mastery allowed Zenitsu to form a Seventh Form of Thunder Breathing that is unique only to him: Honoikazuchi no Kami. While this move might seem similar to Thunder Breathing's First Form, the speed and power of this technique are on a whole new level.
Both Obanai and Mitsuri give their all in this battle with their Flower Breathing and Serpent Breathing techniques to heavily contribute in killing the evil existence that was Muzan. But, as a result, they both also die, unable to spend any time with the one who they now realize they love.
Akaza was also one of Muzan's favorite demons out of all his subordinates. The reason behind this is Akaza's extreme loyalty to his master.
Yet an official Demon Slayer "fanbook," written by the manga's creator, Koyoharu Gotouge, revealed Muzan doesn't really like Upper Rank Two demon, Doma. As Lower Ranks Six, Four, Three and Two can attest, Muzan is not averse to eliminating demons he doesn't care for, even if they're Kizuki.
Tanjiro Kamado is the only (known) living user of the Hinokami Kagura, but unlike the Water-Breathing he learned from former Hashira Sakonji Urokodaki, Tanjiro learned Sun-Breathing from his and Nezuko's late father, Tanjuro Kamado. So the question now is: who was Tanjuro Kamado?
In the Demon Slayer manga's final chapter, Yoriichi and his family have been reincarnated and are seen in the deep background of a panel as Tanjiro's own descendants head to school.
Here is what we know about Kokushibo, the Upper Moon Rank One Demon. Note: This article contains some Demon Slayer Manga Series spoilers, so proceed cautiously! Kokushibo, who holds the highest rank among the Twelve Kizuki (the twelve strongest demons in Demon Slayer), was once a human named Michikatsu Tsugikuni.
When Yoriichi moved forward to kill him, Muzan used the remains of whatever power he had left and divided his body in a powerful burst. Though Yoriichi was able to destroy nearly all the fragments, the pieces he missed escaped and allowed Muzan to regenerate again.
Only two Slayers were ever known to be older than 25 with a Mark. Yoriichi lived till old age, likely due to him having been born with the mark and thereby avoiding the curse altogether. Gyomei on the other hand did not activate his Mark until he was already older than 25.
Yoriichi would be able to defeat every single Hashira on this list without breaking a sweat. Such was his reputation and skill in swordsmanship.
We know that Tanjiro was able to completely outclass Akaza for a few minutes due to his access to the Selfless State and the Transparent World. It was in this flashback when fans realized that Tanjiro was able to learn this because of his father.
Those who have read the manga know that Tanjiro's powers grow exponentially towards the end of the series. His skill and overall combat abilities could be compared to that of a Hashira's. That being said, there is absolutely no chance for Tanjiro Kamado to be able to beat Kibutsuji Muzan.
Realizing the danger to himself, Muzan remotely detonated Nakime's head through his influence, killing Nakime, although her body still remained active for sufficiently long time to bring the fortress into the surface. This attempt at self preservation effectively eradicated the Twelve Kizuki.
The two known demons who broke free of Muzan's curse are Tamayo and Nezuko. Tamayo was able to break free of the condemnation when Yoriichi fought Muzan, nearly killing him in the process. During this weakened state, Yoriichi let Tamayo go, free her from Muzan, and free her from the curse.
