The monster line-up: Godzilla, Anguirus, Rodan, Mothra, Manda, Ebirah, Zilla (from Roland Emmerich's U.S. "Godzilla"), Kamacuras, Kumonga, Minya, Hedorah, Gigan, King Seesar, Kaiser-Ghidorah and a new creature called Monster X.
In some films, Godzilla has even teamed up with fellow monsters to save the world or themselves, usually teaming with Anguirus, Rodan and Mothra. Godzilla's most famous enemies are known to be King Ghidorah and Mechagodzilla.
With only one head remaining, Keizer Ghidorah was unable to put up a fight as Godzilla blasted him with his atomic breath before finally killing him by crushing his remaining skull under his foot.
While Pure Evil in the movies, Gigan plays a heroic role in the television series Godzilla Island and the prequel novel to the anime trilogy GODZILLA: Project Mechagodzilla. He qualifies as Pure Evil in both his Showa and Final Wars incarnations, due to both being presented as sadistic and enjoying torturing others.
Gigan engaged Godzilla in Antarctica and was defeated, but the Xiliens upgraded him and sent him to Tokyo to aid Monster X in the final battle against Godzilla. Mothra soon intervened on Godzilla's behalf, sacrificing her life to destroy Gigan once and for all.
Destoroyah is often considered one of Godzilla's most merciless and evil foes, if not the most evil of Godzilla's foes, along with the Showa King Ghidorah and SpaceGodzilla.
History. Back on Planet X, Keizer raised a young King Ghidorah, but was constantly mocked by his father Grand King Ghidorah for his “poor parenting”. When Keizer came to Earth, he took his son with him to take over the planet.
Ghidorah deliberately consumes Vivienne Graham, devastating Ishiro Serizawa. The right head also tries to eat the ice that falls from the middle head's mouth.
Eventually, Godzilla succeeded in incinerating Ghidorah's wings, side heads, body, and finally, the middle head, to prevent the alien dragon from coming back. However, Ghidorah was not entirely destroyed, for the head Godzilla bit off during the fight in Mexico remained intact and was salvaged.
Godzilla has seen many interpretations over the decades, but Shin Godzilla's version of the classic monster stands out as particularly horrifying.
Overview. Introduced in Son of Godzilla, Minilla was born on Sollgel Island, when his egg was prematurely cracked open by a group of mutant giant mantises called Kamacuras. Godzilla soon arrived, killed two of the Kamacuras, and rescued Minilla.
Anguirus
Godzilla's first foe, the legendary Anguirus. Another quadruped, Anguirus has a much more prehistoric look to him, taking many features from the Ankylosaur. He has a long snout like a crocodile and a turtle-shell back covered in spikes.
TriStar's Godzilla was featured in the 2004 Toho film Godzilla: Final Wars as "Zilla"; this name would continue to be used and trademarked for later incarnations.
King Ghidorah (キングギドラ Kingu Gidora), also known as Monster Zero (モンスター・ゼロ Monsutā Zero), [note 4] is a three-headed dragon kaiju who first appeared in the 1964 Godzilla film Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster.
In Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Godzilla is given the scientific name "Titanus Gojira", after the designation for the monsters was changed from "MUTOs" (Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organisms) to "Titans."
Ghidorah Loses a Head
Before the Oxygen Destroyer breaks up the fight, Godzilla is able to sever one of Ghidorah's three heads. Godzilla also decapitates Ghidorah in 1991's Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah, but in that instance he severed the kaiju's middle head.
Rodan (ラドン, Radon?) of the MonsterVerse, also dubbed Titanus Rodan, is a giant flying pterosaur daikaiju created by Legendary Pictures that first appeared in the 2019 film, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, serving as a major antagonist.
King Ghidorah showed that Godzilla mutated from a late-surviving theropod dinosaur. The carnivore looked like the old, dumpy restorations of Tyrannosaurus from the mid-20th century, and, no surprise, the fictional dinosaur is known as Godzillasaurus.
Dagon, also known to the Japanese as Raijin (雷神 Raijin), was a Titan who appeared in Godzilla: Lord of the Galaxy. He is the father of Godzilla and a partner of Rozan. Dagon was an ancient Titan that was awakened in 1954 during nuclear tests.
Girago (ギラゴ?) is a giant, radioactive reptilian daikaiju and the uncle of Gojira and Godzilla.
Gojira (ゴジラ?) is a giant, radioactive reptilian daikaiju and the main kaiju protagonist of Godzilla: Bonds of Blood. He is the older brother of Godzilla and the eldest son of Gozira and Gorale.
Destoroyah fought Godzilla at the peak of his power and nearly defeated him, but was finally destroyed by a combination of the JSDF's ULT cryolasers and the extreme heat given off by the near-meltdown Godzilla.
Destoroyah may not be the most powerful foe Godzilla ever faced, but he is the cruelest, the most vicious, and the most evil. He looks like a demon, and he fits the bill. He's the only monster in the franchise to laugh at Godzilla during the fight.
In the original Japanese films, Godzilla and all the other monsters are referred to with gender-neutral pronouns equivalent to "it", while in the English dubbed versions, Godzilla is explicitly described as a male. In his book, Godzilla co-creator Tomoyuki Tanaka suggested that the monster was probably male.
