Victor married Virginia after the war, and they had a child together being a daughter named Alice. They then had a son named Henry later on. Alice was a typical, uncomplicated youngster, while Henry was much more troubled and had problems relating to other people.
While it may seem as though they've got a bright future ahead of them, evil is brewing in Victor's son, Henry (Raphael Luce), and that evil winds up taking the lives of his wife and daughter.
The only other person left alive was his son, Henry, who had fallen into a coma. Police eventually arrived and found the disturbing crime scene. As he was falsely believed to have been responsible for the deaths of his family, Victor was arrested and charged with their murders.
Creel. There, Victor accounts how after the second world war, he and his wife moved into the Creel House thanks to the fortune of his wealthy wife, with his two kids Alice and Henry in tow.
Vecna was the original child studied by Dr. Brenner and the son of Victor Creel. He's the infamous Number One, but had his powers blocked and worked as an aide in the Hawkins National Lab.
Vecna draws power from sad and angry memories and that is the main reason he targets traumatized teens. Those teens are a well of power just there to be absorbed. This is not just a theory, Vecna himself told Eleven about the power that angry and sad memories hold.
The episode then cuts to Vecna in 1980s Upside Down, zooming in on his arm, where a tentacle slides away to uncover 001 tattooed on his wrist. So Vecna is 001, who is also Victor Creel's son.
As Eleven witnesses the horror in the room, she completely overpowers Peter with her own powers and shreds him to pieces, opening the very first gate to the Upside Down and sending him through. As Peter falls through, he is struck by lightning and burned, before turning into Vecna.
Remember also that we have evidence that powers can be inherited -- El inherited her powers from Terri Ives, for example. So it stands to reason that Henry inherited his powers from one of his parents.
He believed that the construct of time and monotony needed to be destroyed. So, in his mind, by destroying humanity, he was doing it favor. That's what makes him so evil.
Realizing he had tremendous psychic power, he haunted his family with visions before ultimately killing most of them. His father was framed for the murders and locked away in a mental hospital as a disturbed serial killer. Henry then found himself in the care of Brenner, who decided he wanted more kids like the boy.
We know Eleven was born in 1971, which means her mom got pregnant with her during the tests, sometime in 1970. A 1959 flashback in the mid-season 4 finale reveals a 12-year-old One (Jamie Campbell Bower). That puts One, a.k.a. Vecna, as 24 when Eleven was born.
Virginia Creel, portrayed by Tyner Rushing, was a recurring character in the fourth season of Stranger Things. She was the wife of Victor Creel and the mother of Alice Creel and Henry Creel.
In episode 7, Vecna is revealed to be Henry Creel (played as a youngster by Raphael Luce), the son of Victor Creel (Robert Englund) and his wife Virginia (Tyner Rushing) shown in the 1950s flashbacks.
The final episode of Stranger Things season 4, volume 1 reveals that Henry Creel (Raphael Luce) has psychokinetic powers and, renamed "One," he was the first child experimented on by Dr. Martin Brenner (Matthew Modine) at Hawkins National Laboratory.
Henry begins reaching into his parents' memories and discovers their darkest secrets. For Victor, that includes a memory of World War II where he was responsible for shelling a building that had civilians in it. That burning baby cradle that haunts him is something he found inside the destroyed building.
The theory suggests that Henry Creel was less interested in punishing his “father,” Victor Creel, as he was in torturing his mother (Tyner Rushing) for the “awful thing” she had done.
In a fit of rage, Henry used his restored powers to brutally murder the other test subjects and workers, and attempted to do the same to Eleven. However, Eleven stood her ground and ultimately overpowered him, sending him through a gate to the Upside Down; there, he gradually transformed into the being known as Vecna.
According to Henry Creel, he was brought to Dr. Brenner when his mother caught on to his mysterious psychic powers.
"Vecna seems to be actually intrigued by Nancy being able to figure him out, to be able to get this close to the truth... I think this is more Vecna's narcissistic traits that pull him to Nancy, why he wants to give her this information."
Next up, the viewers go on to theorise that One/Vecna is actually Eleven's dad. Yep, told you it was wild. The theory claims that Brenner wanted to create a child with stronger powers, so he waited until One was old enough to become a father.
This is because his trusted accomplice, Kas the Bloody-Handed, betrayed him and used the sword Vecna created himself to chop off his left hand and remove his left eye. This ultimately destroyed Vecna. Though they're clouded with cataracts, Vecna in Stranger Things has both of his eyes.
Seeing Stranger Things' Vecna Made Millie Bobby Brown Cry
She's a 10, but she cries when she sees Vecna? She's an Eleven.
While intending to get his revenge on Eleven and Brenner, Vecna also goes after victims who have dealt with traumatizing experiences in the past (reminiscent of his childhood and his time at the Hawkins lab).
Ultimately, it is revealed in Stranger Things season 4's finale that the reason why Vecna was killing Hawkins teenagers was to create a massive gate that merges the Right Side Up with the Upside Down - and he specifically needed four bodies to do so.
