Sargy Mann, a Birtish painter, lost his vision in his thirties due to cataracts in both eyes. Prior to become legally blind, he considered himself to be a landscape painter. After losing his sight, he became skilled at portraits.
Monet, Degas and Van Gogh all had eyesight problems which prevented them from seeing clearly. But far from holding them back, their visual challenges made for even richer art. It seems that painting when you don't see very well can sometimes reveal a real gift.
But then scientists became aware of a Turkish artist named Esref Armagan. Born totally blind, Armagan has no direct visual experience. Yet he paints and draws using not only colour, but also shadow, light and perspective in his unique imaginative scenes. So how did Armagan learn about colour?
John Bramblitt (born 1971) is an American blind painter. He is the only blind muralist in the world with murals in New York and Dallas. Bramblitt is known for his bright colors and a style that mix impressionism combined with the modern feel of pop art.

In fact, Close believes he has flourished as an artist not in spite of his neurologic conditions, but because of them—especially his dyslexia and face blindness. "Everything in my work is directly related to my learning disabilities ," Close says.
Chuck Close is known for his innovative conceptual portraiture, depicting his subjects, which are transposed from photographs, into visual data organized by gridded compositions. Throughout his childhood and adolescence, Close used art as a means of navigating a learning disability.

If you ever meet Chuck Close he won't recognize you if he sees you again. He has prosopagnosia, more commonly known as face blindness. He can see the parts of your face perfectly well — your nose, eyes, forehead and so on — but he cannot put the parts together into a pattern that leaves an impression on his memory.
They may wear sunglasses to protect against UV light, to shield their eyes from bright light, or for aesthetic purposes. Additional reasons blind people sometimes wear sunglasses include maximizing their vision, protecting against injuries, and communicating their blindness to others.
