Anakin may have brought balance to the Force at the end of his life, but Luke spent the rest of his life maintaining that balance and that is the very greatest and noble of Jedi.
#1 – Yoda. Yoda is widely considered to be the greatest Jedi of all time, and with good reason. He is a master of the Force, a skilled warrior, and has an unmatched wisdom that comes from centuries of experience. He is the embodiment of what it means to be a Jedi, and his legacy lives on long after his death.
When it came to assembling a list of the greatest Jedi in Star Wars, no character was as quick to mind as Obi-Wan Kenobi. Both Yoda and Qui-Gon Jinn trained Obi-Wan Kenobi. The training of these two proved to be fruitful for Kenobi as he was the first Jedi in 1000 years to defeat a Sith Lord in battle.
Obi-Wan Kenobi
Through it all, Obi-Wan reveals himself to be one of the very best examples of what a Jedi Knight should be: selfless, kind, and willing to do whatever it takes to protect those in need.
Qui-Gon Jinn
Obi-Wan's master is one of the most famous Jedi, and his loyalties to the Republic and the Jedi Order are never called into question.
Arguably, some of the rarest types of Jedi were the so-called Iron Knights. These are members of the Shards species - crystals with a brain of their own. They were Force-sensitive and all trained under the tutelage of Jedi Master Aqinos. The Shards had droid bodies, similar to that of General Grievous.
Widely regarded as the noblest and honorable Jedi of the High Republic era, Jedi Master Avar Kriss embodied everything that the Order stood for. A selfless and strong-willed woman, Kriss possessed a unique skill set that allowed her to understand the Force in a way that few others ever could.
Yoda. Yoda was a wise, experienced, and powerful Grand Master of the Jedi of an unknown species and the oldest known prophet in existence (having lived at least 900 years), considered the wisest and most powerful Jedi Master within the Star Wars universe.
Obi-Wan Kenobi. Obi-Wan Kenobi, the suave and determined Jedi, makes it onto the list of the best Jedi in the Star Wars galaxy due to his unwavering dedication. He witnessed his Master's death as a Padawan but refused to give up on his mission of making the galaxy a better place.
N'Kata Del Gormo was a Force-sensitive male Hysalrian Jedi Master who lived during the times of the Galactic Republic. According to legend, he found and trained Yoda and a Force-sensitive Human friend.
Darth Sidious (Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace)
Truly, the most powerful Sith Lord was Darth Sidious, better known in his public persona of Chancellor (later Emperor) Palpatine.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is one of the most iconic characters in all of pop culture, and his heroics in the Star Wars universe cannot go unappreciated. He was a crucial General in the Clone War, as well as a Jedi Master who temporarily got rid of Maul, and permanently got rid of Grievous.
A reliable and versatile astromech droid, R2-D2 has served Padmé Amidala, Anakin Skywalker, and Luke Skywalker in turn, showing great bravery in rescuing his masters and their friends from many perils.
Qui-Gon Jinn was, in many ways, the most exceptional Jedi of not only his generation, but throughout the history and perhaps the most influential character of the two trilogies.
Master Yoda has risen above all others to claim the top spot as the most powerful Jedi of all time and the true chosen one according to IGN's audience. He won pretty handily as well, as he was victorious in 89,756 of his 95,243 battles and had a win percentage of 94.2%.
Vernestra was enough of a prodigy that she eventually attained the rank of Jedi Knight at the age of only fifteen, making her the youngest Knight in a generation.
The Kel Dor Zym, who was the Grand Master throughout the Great Galactic War, was assassinated shortly after the fall of the Jedi Temple in 3653 BBY. Sometime later, Satele Shan was elected as Grand Master, becoming the youngest known individual to ever receive the title.
Anakin Solo
Arguably the most powerful of the now non-canon Solo children, Anakin Solo had a lot to live up to. Like his namesake, Anakin was found to be strong in the Force at a young age.
Yoda (/ˈjoʊdə/) is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe, first appearing in the 1980 film The Empire Strikes Back.
Jedi Sentinel
Unlike the Scout, the Sentinel has the highest amount of Skill points per level of any Jedi class, making them even more versatile. Obi-Wan Kenobi's master Qui-Gon Jinn is probably the Star Wars character that best represents this blend of Force use and combat talent.
The Solari crystal was one of the oldest and most powerful lightsaber crystals of the Jedi Order.
The second time Yoda mentions his long life is in Return of the Jedi, when he tells Luke, “When you reach 900 years old, you will not look as good as you will.” If we take Yoda at his word, that means the Jedi Master died at the ripe old age of 900.
1 Darth Sidious
There has been no Sith, as powerful, meticulous, nor as evil as the Emperor himself, Darth Sidious. As previously mentioned, Sidious trained in the Dark Side by Darth Plagueis before Sidious killed Plagueis in his sleep, making Sidious a Sith Master.
