During his pursuit of the Snitch, he was hit in the face by a Bludger which broke his nose and gave him two black eyes.
He was not corrupted; he was Imperiused. Bartemius Crouch Jr, under the guise of Alastor Moody, performed the Imperius Curse on him. This was done to make Harry's path to the Triwizard Cup clear.
Though the tournament was meant to be friendly, it was revealed to be a part of a plot to resurrect Lord Voldemort. Sadly, this led to Viktor Krum, whose headmaster was a Death Eater, being hexed to aid in their attempts. In a way, this became a...
He retired from Quidditch after the Bulgarian defeat in the final of the 2002 World Cup, but came out of retirement to compete in the 2014 World Cup, out of a desire "to win the World Cup before I die". The Bulgarian side famously won the World Cup that year, after beating Brazil in the finals.
Transfiguration and Animagi are different
For example: if Viktor Krum can transfigure his head into a shark's, like he does in Goblet of Fire, that doesn't mean he is an Animagus. Transfiguration is a form of spell-casting, whereas becoming an Animagus is forever. And yes, he could turn into a falcon. Lucky.
During his pursuit of the Snitch, he was hit in the face by a Bludger which broke his nose and gave him two black eyes.
As a pack animal, or as a “lone wolf,” the wolf is a perfect fit for Harry's Animagus form.
It turns out later that Krum was being controlled at the time by Barty Crouch Jr. using the Imperius curse.
Viktor Krum was third, facing a Chinese Fireball. He used the Conjunctivitis Curse to blind the dragon and retrieve his egg. However, he was docked points when the dragon stumbled around and smashed half of the real eggs.
Fleur Delacour failed to finish the second task because she was attacked by the grindylows. Because Delacour failed to finish, she never retrieved her younger sister, Gabrielle.
8 It's Not An All-Boys School
In the books, this simply isn't the case, and there are several instances of female Durmstrang students being noted. The school was actually founded by a woman, Nerida Vulchanova, some time before the first Triwizard Tournament in 1294.
Durmstrang Institute is a wizarding academy, similar to Hogwarts School, believed to be located somewhere in western Russia or northern Europe. When we first hear of it, it is run by headmaster Professor Karkaroff.
Viktor Krum: Hufflepuff
He had to work hard to enter the Quidditch League at such a young age, even though he is of course, very skilled. He is an extremely good sport, complimenting Harry on his flying during the second task, and he values fair play.
Cedric's death is a major plot point in the stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, in which Harry and Ginny Weasley's son Albus uses a Time-Turner and prevents Cedric's death. Due to his humiliation in the Triwizard Tournament, Cedric eventually becomes a Death Eater and kills Neville Longbottom.
David Tennant
- where he finally gets to be Scottish - or as Crowley in Good Omens. In his portrayal, Tennant gave Barty the nervous habit of licking his lips, which Brendan Gleeson (Moody's actor) decided to go with. The movement was completely improvised on Tennant's part, but became an indicator for Barty Crouch Sr.
Sirius scolds Harry, "what do you think you were playing at, walking off into the forest with Viktor Krum?" (29.92). And during the third task, Viktor casts the Cruciatus Curse on Cedric Diggory until Harry comes along and Stuns him. (It turns out later that Moody used the Imperius Curse on Viktor to make him do this.
All of the champions got the egg eventually, but Cedric and Fleur were charred a bit, and Krum causes his dragon to step on several of her real eggs. Ron and Harry are reunited afterwards, as Ron was terrified for Harry's life and realized that Harry would never put himself in that position just for attention.
Krum was a vicious racist-hater because Grindelwald killed his grandpa and the nazis killed many people of his muggle-sided family. He is quoted saying that discrimination of muggle-borns is idiotic.
Although every tournament in history had only ever had three champions, Harry Potter found himself chosen as the unprecedented fourth. The other three champions were Fleur Delacour of Beauxbatons, Viktor Krum of Durmstrang and Cedric Diggory of Hogwarts.
During the year of the Triwizard Tournament, Karkaroff was outraged of Harry Potter's name being put in the Goblet of Fire and showed this contempt by purposefully lowering Harry's scores, displaying his bias as a judge.
When they met, Viktor was 18 and Hermione was only 15. This relationship is brought up several times in later books to create tension in Ron and Hermione's developing relationship.
Crouch wanted Harry to reach the Triwizard Cup so that he could be transported to meet with Lord Voldemort. To get the other champions out of the way, Crouch used Moody's magical eye to locate Fleur in the maze and stun her, though she managed to scream once before it hit her.
Following both ordeals, Ginny grew into a confident young woman. Her and her friends followed in the footsteps of a previous generation, completely unbeknownst to them, and became Animagi at the age of fourteen, to support their best friend, Maisie Cattermole. Ginny took the form of a grey mare.
James Potter
James's Animagus form was that of a stag, which earned him his nickname, Prongs. Strikingly, Harry's Patronus was a stag and his mother Lily's was a doe, a female deer, showing that the family's characters were in harmony and formed part of the same animal group.
Draco is not an animagus in the story. However, if he were to become one, I believe he would be a Siamese cat. His belief in his superiority and his snobbish manner line up with Siamese traits, but he, like the cats, loves his family deeply.
