There was some blood, but nothing excessive, and no screaming or dying women and children or anything we felt would really trouble our son, so we allowed it at age 8. We give our rating at 10+, though, because he is a very mature child for 8.
In addition to the violent scenes mentioned above, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has some scenes that could scare or disturb children aged 8-13 years. For example: The death of King T'Challa is being mourned at the start of the movie. There's a funeral procession, and a woman cries over the coffin.

Iron Man is rated PG-13 by the MPAA for some intense sequences of sci-fi action and violence, and brief suggestive content. Tony Stark's playboy approach to life includes gambling, frequent drinking to the point of intoxication and sexual activity with a variety of women.
This movie, while very good, is not appropriate as a family movie, certainly not for 12 year olds as indicated.
