Airbnb rentals don't always provide the basic toiletries found in hotels. In an Airbnb, you'll have hand soap and toilet paper, but expect to bring your toothbrush, toothpaste, shower soap (sometimes included), shampoo (sometimes included) and other hygienic items that are part of your routine (like a hair dryer).
So what should you add to the bathroom in your Airbnb? You have to have the essentials like shampoo, conditioner, bar soap or body wash, and body lotion. Extra luxuries could include a new loofah, slippers, a hairdryer, makeup remover wipes, q-tips and cotton balls, and even a first aid kit.
Stock up on the essentials. Guests will expect to find toilet paper, hand and body soap, towels, and linens, so make sure your space is stocked with all of these essential amenities. Airbnb recommends offering a minimum of: One towel per guest.
Essential Airbnb Toiletries

Most Airbnb hosts provide you with bed sheets when you visit their rentals. Whether they'll charge you for the linen is up to them.
Essentials. In your Airbnb listing, under amenities, is a box called “Essentials.” Essentials are shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. If you don't provide that, you can't check that you provide the “essentials.” Starting in Summer of 2018, Airbnb is going to start requiring that hosts have the essentials.
Essential amenities are the basic items that a guest expects in order to have a comfortable stay. These include: Toilet paper. Soap (for hands and body)
By keeping your stock levels high, you won't have to worry about items running out and not having the refills on hand. Shampoo, body wash, and liquid hand soap, bought by the gallons or in large amounts of travel-size portions, will keep your inventory good for many weeks, even months.
Hosts will typically provide laundry detergent, bleach, and stain remover, but if you have any special homemade cleaning mixtures, you will want to have those on hand. Your laundry supplies will determine how well you perform laundering your hosts' towels, linens, and bedding.
While we don't require hosts to provide essential amenities in their listing, we strongly encourage it. Guests have told us that these are the items they expect for a comfortable stay.
Who would want to sleep in used sheets? If such happens, the guest should mention it in the review so others avoid that host. The majority of hosts on AirBnB do change the sheets between guests.
For all listings on Airbnb, guests require access to a bathroom that has a sink, toilet, and shower or tub.
It's not uncommon for hosts to ask guests to take out the trash, run the dishwasher or start a load of laundry with the towels and sheets. There's no rule saying that Airbnbs can't do both — charge cleaning fees and require some light housekeeping.
A cleaning fee is a one-off charge for cleaning the space you stay in and is set by the Host. It's an extra amount on top of the nightly rate when you book a listing. This fee covers the extra expenses Hosts incur when getting their place ready for guests to arrive or after they leave.
Hair dryers are amenities that guests expect in Airbnbs, so don't let them down. By providing a great hair dryer, you can ensure that your guests enjoy a luxurious, convenient, and satisfying shower experience, enhancing their stay and ensuring their utmost comfort at your property.
Many hosts will request that guests gather any used towels and place them somewhere. This makes it easier for them to know which items need to be washed. Plus, even in hotels, they often ask guests to designate which towels are dirty and when they need to be washed, so it's just the common sense thing to do.
Unless you have a pool or a jacuzzi in your rental or you're near a beach, beach towels aren't a necessity for your Airbnb rental. Make sure you have both beach towels and bath towels and indicate for your guests which one is which to ensure they don't run out of bath towels.
Provide three towels per person for Airbnb. This includes one bath towel, one hand towel, and one washcloth towel per guest for every two-night stay. If you have a pool or outdoor swimming then add one additional beach towel per guest.
How Many Guest Towels Should You Offer per Guest? Generally, you should provide every guest with two bath towels: one washcloth and one hand towel. If you don't have a washing machine, then make sure to add extra guest towels for every extra night exceeding two nights.
Remove items that are not for guests
These items could include photos, underwear, diaries, as well as appliances such as shavers. The more items you leave lying around, the more potential there will be for guests to possibly use and/or break them.
You shouldn't be responsible for washing anything in terms of sheets and towels, and the host won't expect you to. You should check the description of the Airbnb and ask the host if you are concerned, however.
