Using a fine-tooth comb (applying minimal pressure) and running water, debris can be easily released from the foam to clean it.
Tip #2: Rubber gloves are magical!
With this trick, you'll need rubber gloves for more than just the dishes! In fact, you can use them to remove Rocky and Balboa's hairs in the blink of an eye. Just slip on a pair of gloves, rub the area of your mattress filled with hair in a circular motion, and you're done!
Dryer sheets (sometimes slightly dampened), pumice stones, lint rollers, and duct tape all work wonders for removing hair from various fabric surfaces. Dryer sheets are great for carpet and furniture, pumice stones on carpet, and lint rollers or duct tape on, well, just about anything.
Hair grows by constantly getting new scale at its base, partially overlapping previous scale so when hair fall out it is ready-made harpoon for your mattress - one end gets stuck in mattress' pore and with every move it is only pushed deeper as backward movement constrained by scales.
Remove the cover and sprinkle your memory foam pillow with baking soda. Try to cover it well and let it sit for at least an hour and then vacuum it thoroughly by using the upholstery brush attachment. This will remove any dust or pet hair from your pillow and leave it smelling fresh.
Typically, memory foam will need to be hand-washed, as machine washing can cause it to break apart. However, memory foam commonly has hypoallergenic properties that stave off the presence of mildew, dust mites, and other allergens and it does not need to be deep cleaned as often as other types of pillow fill.
When cleaning any type of foam material, we therefore recommend the use of a reuseable spray bottle in which your cleaning agent can be mixed with water (if needing to be diluted). Two popular items used in the foam cleaning are rubbing alcohol and white vinegar, in addition to a microfibre cloth.
Clean with solution.
We don't recommend using harsh cleaning products like ammonia or bleach for this, as they can ruin the foam. Instead, you can use a ½ cup of fabric cleaner or white vinegar mixed with 1 cup of water.
Memory foam is a temperature sensitive material that works best in response to natural body heat. If the hot water bottle leaks, this can stain the mattress and cause significant damage to the material.
It takes just seconds for memory foam to return to its original shape. When you sit or lie down on your memory foam mattress, you will notice an indentation relevant to the pressure and weight which you applied to your body. There will probably be a deeper indentation or mattress sag around your hips, for example.
Another way to address pet hair in the laundry is to use a laundry booster, such as white vinegar, that loosens fur. “Adding some white vinegar to the rinse cycle of the washer machine softens the water and helps to loosen fur from fabrics,” Bendersky says.
Another tip to get pet hair off clothes is to add 1/2 cup white vinegar to the machine's rinse cycle when washing your items. This is especially helpful if you have lots of pet hair or lint stuck to your clothes. Like the pre-wash dryer cycle, this also helps relax fabrics and frees trapped hair.
Simply running the laundry through a tumble cycle will loosen the fabrics and pet hair, no heat needed. When the dryer is done, take out the laundry, give it one last shake to remove any remaining pet hair and put it in the washer.
"Once a month, let your washing machine tub air dry, (by keeping the door open for a day) and use the crevice attachment on your vacuum to clean out as much hair as possible," she says. "Then give it a detailed wipe down—including the area under the rubber lip of the machine—and run a 'tub clean' cycle if you have one.

The main problem with memory foam mattresses is that, despite the fact that they provide excellent comfort as an advantage, they also have some significant drawbacks, like heat retention and off-gassing, that may deter some people from selecting them as a mattress option.
Memory foam mattresses can last anywhere from eight to ten years, depending on how well they're cared for. Typically, a memory foam mattress will last as long as any other type of mattress, whether it's an innerspring or hybrid.
Once you have removed your memory foam, sprinkle baking soda over it. This helps to eliminate odours and absorbs any moisture which may be in the foam. Once this is done, leave the baking soda to settle for approximately ten minutes.
Sprinkle baking soda to keep it fresh
If you're looking to keep your mattress smelling clean and fresh, try sprinkling baking soda over the surface. Make sure you lightly cover the whole mattress and leave it for a few hours. Then, vacuum the remaining baking soda off your mattress and this will leave it odourless!
You can't put foam pads in a washing machine or dryer since the spinning and agitation are too much for the delicate structure of the foam. And the foam material used in these toppers can be damaged by bleach and other harsh chemicals used for many cleaning products.
The foam clings to the dirt and debris, allowing it to be removed without using harsh chemicals or pressure washers. This makes foam cleaning a safe and gentle alternative to other forms of cleaning.
