Weed just burns better and smokes smoother when you grind it first. And after all, we all want the best experience possible! Now that you can grind your flower, check these blogs on How to Roll a Joint and How to Smoke a Joint Like a Pro.
Remove Leftover Weed from Your Grinder
We're here to tell you this is not a good plan. Your weed will lose its freshness quickly when left in the grinder, and you won't get to enjoy it as much. Instead, transfer leftover ground weed into an airtight container until you are ready to consume it.
And, indeed, ground flower is often slightly less potent and flavorful as fresher whole buds. However, ground flower has several key advantages that can help you prepare and consume cannabis more easily and readily.
You don't have to grind your buds into a powder before heating and decarboxylating them, though it is recommended.
The quickest, easiest method of decarboxylation is smoking or vaporizing, which makes cannabinoids instantly available for absorption through inhalation.
Ripping it apart with your hands is the simplest way, but you can also use a coffee grinder, a cheese grater, or an empty pill bottle with a coin inside. A mortar and pestle may also work if your flower is on the dry side.
Ground flower is usually made up of 1 or 2 strains grounded up finely for easy consumptions and sold in 7G jars up to 28G. Most patients use it for making edibles while some enjoy it the old fashion way and smoke it.
Godfather OG is quite possibly the highest THC strain. Labs put the strain's THC levels at a tremendous 30-35%. In fact, Godfather OG is touted as the world's strongest marijuana strain.
Sativa plants are taller and thinner than indica plants. They have narrower leaves and are lighter in color. Sativas tend to be less potent, with lower THC levels. They are known for being more energizing and providing a "head high."
Does Grinding Your Weed Destroy Trichomes? Although using a grinder can cause some of the trichomes in your weed to fall off your bud, grinders will collect those trichomes in the chamber. This collection of loose cannabis trichomes is known as kief.
Angle grinder safety isn't just about changing wheels but also selecting the right attachments, correctly using the tool, and putting the necessary controls in place. Using the wrong wheel for the task, or using the tool in the wrong way, can harm you in a variety of ways, including: Cuts to the skin.
If you over-dry your cannabis, it'll be more likely to go moldy, so it's important to monitor the drying process closely. If your buds are too dry, they'll be more likely to crumble when you try to break them up for smoking, so it's important to take them out of the drying chamber before they become too dry.
Oddly enough, indica strains tend to have a lighter THC concentration than sativa, even though they result in a more “stoned” sensation. This ultra-mellow type of pot, characterized by shorter plants with broader leaves, is perfect for insomniacs and people who wake up in the middle of the night worrying about stuff.
In terms of particular ailments, sativa strains tend to be better for psychological disorders like depression, PTSD, and anxiety. Indicas are often the best for pain and inflammation and, thus, are beneficial for patients with arthritis, fibromyalgia, and cancer.
Sativa strains are more suitable for daytime use, as they don't have the instant sleepy-time effects that Indica strains do. Sativa strains cause a boost of serotonin, a neurotransmitter which is involved in our brain's regulation of sleep, appetite, anxiety, movement, learning, and overall mood.
The cannabis genetics control the growth cycle and the length of bloom. Certain strain types such as specific types of Haze, Amnesia or sativa varieties can have long bloom times. The longest flowering strains, which includes some Haze varieties, can take 14+ weeks in bloom.
Look under a microscope or jewelers loupe and you'll see many of the trichomes are almost mushroom shaped. These are known as capitate-stalked trichomes and they are the largest, most potent, trichomes found on cannabis.
Capitate-stalked trichomes
These trichomes are the largest and most plentiful kind found on high-quality cannabis. These trichomes are large enough to be visible to the naked eye, but at 50-100 micrometers in length, they are only slightly larger than the width of human hair.
The safest choice is to use a vaporizer—it delivers the THC in mist form instead of smoke. But they cost a lot of money—$100-700. The second best choice is to smoke it in the form of a joint.
Smoke-ability
The results: not great. Whole flower buds don't have as even of a surface area which makes the flower burn very unevenly.
How do you consume dry flower? Dry flower is typically consumed by smoking though a glass pipe, water pipe, joint or similar method.
In the bottom compartment of a three-piece grinder, the crystals (aka trichomes) of sticky buds collect with each turn of the lid. These trichomes break off from the buds, sift through a mesh screen, and pile into a tacky powder called kief.
Use bloom boosters – When you give your plant a proven, cannabis-specific bloom booster, you're giving it the extra elements that help it grow bigger, denser, heavier and more potent buds. The less the plant has to make these elements itself, the more energy it can direct towards flowering.
