The more mobile the area, the faster a filler in that spot will break down. Because of this, patients can seek expert facial plastic surgeons who can inject fillers into specific parts of the face to provide the most satisfying results, while selecting areas with the least amount of movement.
Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that acts as a dispersion agent, breaking down hyaluronic acid through hydrolysis. It's a naturally-occurring enzyme that is purified to dissolve dermal fillers.
So while the body naturally breaks them down over time, there is a way to speed up the process: Injections of hyaluronidase. Hyaluronidase is what the body produces naturally to break down fillers, so by injecting more, it allows the lips to regain natural shape quicker, usually going down within 3-4 days.
Answer: This may be due to diminished swelling.
Keep in mind that swelling is a common side effect immediately following lip injections, so it is possible that what you're seeing is that swelling beginning to diminish.
The filler will start to break down and soften immediately, although depending on the location and how much needs to be dissolved, it may take up to two weeks for it to completely dissolve and settle back to natural.
If you're big into exercise, your fillers may metabolize faster than those with a more sedentary lifestyle. This shouldn't deter you from an active life or lip fillers though. If you don't receive routine maintenance your lip fillers will dissolve over time until it's completely metabolized in your body. Some people metabolize it very fast and will make the dermal filler dissolve fast. Others may metabolize the filler slower and may see longer lasting results due to that.
The longevity of filler depends on many factors, like the type and amount, but, mostly, metabolic rate. Metabolism affects just how long filler lasts in each of our bodies, which is why your friend's lip filler might last longer than yours, or vice versa.
Your metabolism determines how long your lip filler will last. The same bodily mechanism that regulates how quickly you metabolize calories determines how fast your filler will break down. In short: if you have a fast metabolism, your lip filler will likely break down more quickly.
Only dermal fillers made from hyaluronic acid can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. Other semi-permanent and permanent fillers cannot be removed with hyaluronidase. Hyaluronic acid filler that has become hard in consistency may require treatments other than simply hyaluronidase.
Massage can encourage the filler to be broken up by the body more quickly. But in practice this still takes a long time (like weeks of daily vigorous massage) to improve the outcome. This may also spread the product over a larger area causing more problems.
Hydration not only keeps wrinkles at bay, but helps maintain your injections. In addition to drinking water, hydrate your skin with topical treatments. Choose a moisturizer with hyaluronic acid to reduce inflammation and slow the process with which your body breaks down your injectables.
I recommend waiting 2 weeks after a filler injection before repeating filler in that same region. The swelling that normally occurs after an injection will usually have subsided by that time to give a more accurate view of whether or not additional filler is needed.

“When you repeatedly enlarge the lips — pumping them up as big as possible — the filler can act as a tissue expander, permanently stretching the skin, and causing the lips to sag and deflate when the filler eventually degrades, leaving you in worse shape than when you started,” she explains.
Unfortunately, it's not possible to make injection lip fillings last longer once you've received them. Your body will naturally metabolize the hyaluronic acid and your lips will slowly return to their natural shape and size over time. Everyone's body is different, so everyone will metabolize injections differently.

The skin and other tissues are full of water and drinking more water should not make any difference.
Although extremely rare, dermal fillers are able to migrate within the skin if consistent and adequate pressure is applied to them. For this reason, we advise patients not to get a facial, massage (on the treated skin), or microdermabrasion for the first two weeks following their filler injections.
A published journal article states that higher doses [of hy'dase] can lead to damage of native extracellular matrix glycosaminoclycans, leaving a gaunt appearance with poor skin texture (Figure 4). Patients are increasingly presenting with hyaluronidase-related damage, which is often untreatable.
Composed of a sugar molecule which is also produced naturally in the body, it generally dissolves and is excreted by the body in six to nine months. And if a client wants to get rid of it sooner, the area can be injected with an enzyme which will dissolve the filler completely within two hours.
